Our Mission

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) is a grassroots level nonprofit organisation committed to upholding Dharma, educating on Dharma, awakening of Dharma in the masses, protection of Bharat, and uniting Hindus with the aim of declaring Bharat a Hindu Rashtra. The HJS is at the forefront in the fight against misinformation about Hindu Dharma and its practices, denigration of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, Hindumisia, while also striving to protect the dignity of national symbols and assets.

Our Vision

A Hindu Rashtra, founded on the principles of Dharma, conducive to practice, preserve, and propagate the eternal values of Sanatan Dharma (Hindu Dharma) leading to a happier, healthier, prosperous, and secure world.

Our Values

Spirituality as the foundation of any activity – Every cause which is backed by the grace of the Divine is bound to succeed. So HJS firmly believes in serving Dharma as a form of selfless spiritual practice.

Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha – The Dharma we uphold protects us

Our Story

Connecting 10 Hindus to a 1000 Hindu Organisations

The Start

In 2002, a few concerned Hindus got together to discuss the rising incidents of Hindu Gods and Goddesses being ridiculed in mass media. These discussions led to the understanding that the common Hindu, while religious, is unaware of the various issues plaguing Hindu Dharma today. This created an urgent need to awaken the desire to uphold Dharma in everyday life. Thus, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti was born on the auspicious day of Ghatasthapana, the first day of Navaratri 2002.

The inspiration

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti derives its inspiration from Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Athavale, a visionary Rashtra-Sant. He is a proponent of the Hindu Rashtra.

The first challenge

As a fledgling Hindu organisation in a Hindu majority Nation with multiple Hindu organisations, the HJS had to strive hard to make its views heard. However, grassroots level outreach programmes, the selfless behaviour of our volunteers, and dedication to the aim of establishing the Hindu Rashtra have now made HJS an organisation people look up to for assistance in matters related to the Nation & Dharma.

Today

What started as a minor awareness movement to preserve the dignity of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, has now grown into a veritable banyan tree which touches numerous issues that Hindu Dharma and Hindus face.
