About the campaign
In October 2002, during a meet of activists of the 'Parivartanvadi Vichaar Manch', Hindu deities were blasphemously criticized. One Hindu strongly objected to their deplorable act. These activists beat up the Hindu. With a view to protest against this attack, all Hindu organizations came together and the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) was established on the 13th October 2002 by initiative of seekers of Sanatan Sanstha. It was decided that any Hindu, irrespective of the organization, sect etc. he/she belongs to can become member of HJS. Thus HJS stands as a common platform for all Hindus to unite breaking all the barriers.
Following are the names of Hindus from various organisations who were present at the time of inception of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti.

Involving like-minded organisations, associations and individuals in its different campaigns. The main intention is to create awareness among Hindus in the process.
The activities undertaken by the HJS comprises curbing denigration taking place through various mediums, advertisements, theatrical performances; curbing malpractices prevalent in public festivals; curbing degradation of Religious leaders and Saints, to provide religious education to Hindus, to curb conversion of Hindus, etc.
Any act that harms the interests of Hindu Dharma is notified to the society by creating public awareness regarding it and trying to stop it by lawful means. In such situations, the offenders are made aware of the harmful act committed by them. As a result, persons, organisations or business houses associated with such acts realise their mistake and accept it, thereby stopping such acts. If they don't accept their mistake after being intimated, then a written memorandum is handed over to them. If they do not pay any heed thereafter too, then the HJS adopts lawful measures such as organising protest marches, staging demonstrations, lodging police complaints, informing the Government, spreading such information through press conferences, seeking judicial help for justice, etc.
The HJS launches online protest campaigns against the concerned through its website www.hindujagruti.org. It also gives publicity to such protest campaigns through ‘Sanatan Prabhat's’ periodicals, other newspapers and news channels to create public awareness.
The Samiti is very prompt in its action against any incident regarding hurting of religious sentiments.
Samartha Ramdas Swami has said that, Every act one undertakes and every agitation one stages has potential and will succeed provided God’s will is invoked there of. As per this saying, the HJS, on the basis of divine support, makes righteous efforts as expected by Dharma. That is how each of its agitation is successful and beneficial to the society at large.
The campaigns and activities of the HJS have got overwhelming success and have proved to be very beneficial to the society, the reason being that they are backed by the blessings of Saints and divine energy of God.
Thus HJS follows these principles -
Meaning: Dharma protects those who protect Dharma!
Meaning: Where there is Dharma (righteous conduct), victory (success) is assured.
Meaning: In kaliyug, we must fight unitedly.

It is a protest march of all Hindus to stop denigration of deities and saints. After the HJS was formed, its first project was ‘Naamdindi’. This very first attempt of the HJS to bring the Hindu Energy, which is divided into different sects, parties, groups and organizations, under one banner, got a spontaneous response from proud Hindus. In Maharashtra, more than 90 ‘Naamdindis’ were organized in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Nasik, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara, etc. in which more than 2 lakhs Hindus came together forgetting their sects, posts, parties, organizations and chanting the name of deities aloud, participated as 'Hindus'.

Hindus do not receive any education about their religion, since their childhood. Thus, they get deprived of the supreme happiness that can be obtained from it. Since Hindus are not proud of their religion, they do not retaliate when anyone criticizes their religion or mocks at their seat of worship. To reform this situation, the HJS conducts 'Dharma Satsangs' to impart knowledge about Hindu Religion and culture. It also imparts education about the science behind celebrating Holy festivals and Religious observances through Video CD's. This activity is undertaken jointly by the HJS in association with the Sanatan Sanstha. It has also started Children's Value Education classes in schools, with the help of Sanatan Sanstha. This results in them getting knowledge about 'Dharma' (Righteousness), which enables them to discover supreme bliss (joy) in the real sense. The Doordarshan and other TV channels also invite the HJS, from time to time, for discussions and guidance.
