Purity and knowledge. One of the trigunas (three components). The entire universe is made up of three components – sattva, raja and tama – denoting purity, activity and ignorance, respectively. They are the finest and most subtle particles – much more subtle than even electrons in an atom. The sattva component is the one that one should try to acquire maximally.
