HC rejects a petition filed saying Astrology is fraudulent!

Mumbai: Astrology is a science and does not cause any trouble to secularism. Astrology is a timeless science. Astrology has a scientific basis and is a 4 thousand year old science. Supreme Court has said that astrology is officially a science and banning astrology would be unjust. These views were expressed by the Mumbai High Court bench comprising of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Judge S. J. Wajifdar in their judgement. Bhagwanji Rayani had filed a people’s petition mentioning that Astrology, Feng Shui, Vastu Shastra, Reiki treatment and others are fraud and hence they should be banned. This petition was dismissed by the High Court yesterday.

Advait Sinha, a lawyer representing the Central Government, said, “Bharatiya University Grants Commission has taken a decision to include astrology as a part of the syllabus. Then this decision was objected to in a petition filed in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court said that astrology is officially a science, when hearing a petition titled ‘P.M.Bhargav against University Grants Commission’ and said, “It will not be a mistake to include astrology as a part of the curriculum. If this science is misused by anyone in order to cheat, dupe or trouble then action can be taken against that person on the basis of existing laws related to astrology. Actually there is a law against ‘Magic Remedies’; but there cannot exist any law in opposition to astrology.”

Next the lawyer representing the state government said, “If anyone is using astrology to trouble or cheat then action is taken against such a person as per guidelines laid by the Food and Medicine Department’s ‘Maharashtra Medical Practices Law 1961’” (Supporters of ANS, will you all at least now understand how many laws are present against blind faith ? – Editor SP)
