Devout Hindus are protesting lawfully on following Contact Details : Heinz India Private Limited |
Mumbai : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has opposed the advertisement of a pharmaceutical company manufacturing food supplement called ‘Complan’ shown on television channels for its glorification of Mughals and has made a demand to withdraw the advertisement.
A foreign company named ‘Heinz’ has made the product ‘Complan’ referred to as a tonic for increasing brain power of children. An advertisement is being shown on television channels for marketing the said product. The following incident has been shown in this advertisement.
In a class-room, a (Hindu) teacher asks a boy the name of father of King Jehangir. The student shows as if he is unable to recollect the name and the teacher asks the same question to another student when he answers the question immediately telling the name of Jehangir’s father. The credit of the boy answering the question correctly is given to ‘Complan’.
HJS learnt about the advertisement glorifying Mughals invading India. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad registered protest with Mr. Stan Baptist of ‘Consumer Feedback’ of the company with a demand to stop telecasting the said advertisement as it glorified Mughals. Mr. Baptist said that children were taught history through this advertisement. Mr. Vatkar said to him, “Why do you remember only the history of Mughals who oppressed Indians? We are living in Bharat; therefore, we should teach glorifying history of Indians. Teach children history of great kings like Vikramaditya, Harshavardhan, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj etc. else an agitation would be staged in protest. Devout Hindus and Indians will boycott your products. Advertisements of companies like Cadbury and Amul which made mockery of history have been earlier stopped.” Mr. Baptist could not say anything on this argument. Mr. Vatkar has also sent a protest letter to this company on behalf of HJS.

Dear Sir,
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is an NGO engaged in Nation building, educating people on Dharma (Righteousness) and Dharmacharan (Abiding by Righteousness), awakening and uniting Hindus peacefully and through lawful means. For details, please visit our website www.HinduJagruti.org. We had stopped such denigrating advertisements of M/s Cadbury India and M/s Amul Body Warmer. The details of the same are available on our website.
The advertisement of ‘ Complan’ has defamed the Indian History and glorifying enemies of India. The advertisement can be see on various t.v.channels.
In this advertisement it is shown that in a class-room, a (Hindu) teacher asks a boy the name of father of King Jehangir. The student shows as if he is unable to recollect the name and the teacher asks the same question to another student when he answers the question immediately telling the name of Jehangir’s father. The credit of the boy answering the question correctly is given to ‘Complan’. Teacher and students are intentionally projecting and propagating names of only Mughals as if there is no Hindu name in glorious Indian history. Please note that there were many valiant Kings like Vikramaditya, Harshavardhan,Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap, etc. Please note that you are hurting our National and religious sentiments of crores of Indians and Hindus.
We also use Heinz products and had regard for you. However we will have to reconsider about using your products in future if you don’t change advertisement theme. Please note that M/s Heinz India has insulted and hurt National and Religious sentiments of crores of Hindus who will boycott your products resulting loss to your organisation. Hence it would be appropriate on your to part to render an apology to all Hindus for hurting their religious sentiments and immediately stop such defamatory advertisements and not repeat such mistakes in the future.
Please acknowledge this letter and inform us in writing about action taken by you, failing which we will be forced to start protest campaign against you.
Yours Faithfully,
(SG Vatkar)
