Maharashtra Governor welcomes ‘Kalady to Kedar’ pilgrimage !

All should unite to carry on the mission of social integration started by Adya Shankaracharya ! – Governor, K. Shankaranarayanan

Mumbai – ‘Adya Shankaracharya lived his whole life for integration of society. He also did the divine task of uniting people for spiritual cause; but the teachings of Shankaracharya have been forgotten today leading to division among people. In this background, pilgrimage undertaken from Kalady (birth place of Adya Shankaracharya in Kerala) to Kedar (Place of ‘samadhi’ of Adya Shankaracharya in Uttarakhand) will create unity amongst people. Citizens of this country, followers of Adya Shankaracharya and Saints and Seers must unite to improve condition of this country,’ was the appeal made by Maharashtra Governor, K Shankaranarayanan on 7th March at Raj Bhavan.

The Governor was speaking on the occasion of ‘Mission Kalady to Kedar pilgrimage’ undertaken under ‘Faith Foundation’ when it was welcomed on arrival at Raj Bhavan. The Governor, attired in traditional clothes, welcomed the pilgrims on behalf of people of Maharashtra. He offered soil to ‘Mruttika Kalash’ with devotion and offered garland and fruits to the picture of Adya Shankaracharya when recitation of ‘Veda-Mantras’ was going on in the background. Shri. Ashok Kini, the President of ‘Faith Foundation’ and retired Lt. Colonel, Shri. Raghav Chaudhary, Coordinator of pilgrimage and Shri. Anand Jakhotia, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion; besides pundits from Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain.

Governor K. Shankaranarayanan said that,

1. Even if only 2 % people understood the mission undertaken by Adya Shankaracharya, positive changes will take place.

2. There is need for  youth to know Shankracharya’s thoughts fully in today’s difficult situation.

3. Everyone should realize the need for divine work carried out by Shankaracharya even in present time and participate in such work.

1. Governor K Shankaranarayanan hails from Kerala; therefore, he personally looked into all arrangements for welcoming of this pilgrimage.

2. Governor presented greetings card for success of the ‘mission Kalady to Kedar’ pilgrimage.

Sanatan Sanstha presents book on ‘Naam Sankeertan Yoga’ to Honorable Governor !

Shri. Anand Jakhotia, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha presented to the Governor, a book in English published by Sanatan Sanstha on importance of chanting titled ‘Naam Sankeertan Yoga’ and few issues of monthly ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ periodical published in Hindi and English. He was looking at the picture of Shankaracharya and H. H. Dr. Jayant Athavale, the founder of Sanatan Sansdtha for a long time and went through the book. Shri. Jakhotia explained to him, in brief, about Sanatan’s activities.
