UP: Govt sets up SIT to probe funding of madrasas; Unregistered madrasas to be penalised ₹10,000 per day
The Uttar Pradesh government has formed a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by an Additional Director General rank officer, to probe into the funds received from abroad by madrasas in the state. Also, UP’s basic education department has issued a notice stating that madrasas found operating in Muzaffarnagar without registration will have to pay a penalty of ₹10,000 per day. Read more »
