Due to the mistakes of administrative officers, the government has incurred a financial loss of crores of rupees!
Afsan Yantramag Garment Industrial Co-operative Society Limited in Naladurg, Tuljapur, Dist. Dharashiv is facing a situation of default on the share capital invested by the Maharashtra government and the loan provided. Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar, National President of the Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad, has raised concerns about the potential economic loss of crores due to the imposition of terms and conditions by government officials.
Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar further stated that according to ‘Government Decision No. Yantramag 2009/P.No.261/Tex-2’, it was mandatory for the Afsan Yantramag Garment Industrial Co-operative Society Limited to pledge the equity of each director to the extent of 20% of the amount given and to submit quarterly progress reports of the organization. In this case, failure to fulfill these two conditions has resulted in a potential loss of Rs 3 crores 15 lakhs invested by the government as share capital and loan. This loss is due to the unforgivable mistakes of the officers and employees of the concerned department.
Yantramag Ghotala_Naldurga_PN_MThe scam came to light when the Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad sought information about the financial transactions of the Afsan Yantramag Garment Industrial Co-operative Society Limited through the Right to Information (RTI) Act. However, the responses revealed some shocking and absurd details. According to government conditions, each director of the beneficiary organization was required to pledge 20% of the total amount. Instead, only some property of the chairman was pledged. When this discrepancy was highlighted in the RTI request, the Naladurg Talathi gave a ridiculous response, claiming they were taking action to impose the burden. Additionally, when information was requested about the oversight responsibilities of the Director of Textiles, Nagpur, and the Regional Deputy Director, Aurangabad, who were supposed to monitor the organization’s work and submit monthly progress reports, a vague and unsatisfactory response was provided, indicating that these reports were not being submitted as required.
Due to the issues surrounding Afsan Yantramag Garment Industrial Co-operative Society Limited, Naladurg, there is growing suspicion about whether this organization is functional or if it was merely a front for laundering money through bogus institutions. Considering this, the Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad has made significant demands to the government.
These demands include:
1. Verification of Pledged Assets: An investigation to verify if the status of mortgaged assets of the organization and its directors complies with government decisions.
2. Asset Confiscation: Initiating proceedings to confiscate the assets of the organization in relation to its arrears.
3. Accountability of Government Officials: Taking strict legal action against the government officials who were responsible for monitoring the organization and submitting progress reports but failed to do so.
4. Transparency and Accountability: Publishing details of the amounts given to cooperative societies at the state level, the amounts returned, and their work reports on the website of the relevant department or the textile industry department.
Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar emphasized the importance of these measures to ensure accountability and prevent further financial mismanagement.
