It is shameful that we build temples of a man who listened to a dhobi and kicked out his pregnant wife : Dnyanesh Maharao

Derogatory statement about Deity Shriram by former editor of weekly Chitralekha, Dnyanesh Maharao, at the Sambhaji Brigade convention in Mumbai

Mumbai : “How can a person who listens to a dhobi and kicks out his pregnant wife out of the house be a God ? We should be ashamed that we are building temples of such a person in the country,” said Dnyanesh Maharao, former editor of weekly Chitralekha, while criticizing Deity Shriram. He was speaking at the convention of Sambhaji Brigade in Mumbai. Shockingly enough, he made these statements in the presence of Sharad Pawar, MP and the Chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar faction), and Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Congress MP from Kolhapur. (Hindus, remember these politicians during next elections, who allow insult of Hindu Deities in the name of liberal thinking – Editor).

Dnyanesh Maharao further said, “If someone throws my sister out of the house, will I remain calm ? He (Shriram) was said to be monogamous. What is shown in the television serials broadcasted on the evenings, ‘Swami-Swami’ (praising of Swami Samarth). Renowned actor Ashok Saraf’s wife says, ‘Even if you jump from the top, Swami will save you’. We should send such people to the Olympics. If everything is happening because of Swami, then did Sharad Pawar not do anything in the last 50 years ? Did he not propose and implement welfare schemes ? Did he not build the schools ? Did he not create banks ? (Saints perform miracles for their devotees. Of course, those who do not believe in God and Saints, cannot understand the miracles and spiritual experiences. Devotees should question Maharao who compared Swami Samarth with politician Sharad Pawar. Hindus must teach a lesson to the politicians who were present while such statements were being made in the next elections – Editor).

Are the women who recite the ‘Atharvashirsha’ collectively out of their mind ?

Dnyanesh Maharao, former editor of Chitralekha, made a hateful and insulting statement on 3rd September about thousands of Ganesh devotee women who recite ‘Atharvashirsha’. He asked if the women reciting ‘Atharvashirsha’ in front of Ganapati out of their mind. His interview has been aired on YouTube channel ‘Abhivyakti’. For the past several years, thousands of women have been reciting ‘Atharvashirsha’ every year in front of the Ganapati Idol at the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati in Pune. This year 32,000 women came from different parts of Maharashtra for this purpose.

Editorial Perspective

  • There are disagreements over whether the events in Uttarkand in the Ramayan actually took place or not; but deliberately ignoring this, Maharao is using his half-baked knowledge for his anti-Hindu agenda.
  • Today’s politicians show dustbin to common people’s grievances and don’t even take note of those who are agitating for various demands. Then why is the sensitivity shown by Deity Shriram not properly understood and thought of ?
  • Does Dnyanesh Maharao have the same courage to talk about the prophets of other religions ? A law is required now to punish those who insult Hindu places of worship. Maharao dares to make such statements only because the Hindus are tolerant.
