Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has sparked outrage after he revealed that ghee adulterated with animal fat was used to prepare the prasad at the Shri Tirupati Balaji Temple. The Shri Tirupari Balaji Temple is a center of faith for millions of devotees worldwide. Its prasad, the laddus are not only reverently partaken by devotees in India, even abroad.

Adulterating the ghee used for prasad with animal fats is a deliberate attack on the religious faith of Hindus. This incident symbolises the betrayal of Hindus. When former Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s father Samuel Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister, the contract to make the sacred laddus of the Shri Tirupati Balaji temple was awarded to a Christian-run company. Christians were even appointed to the temple management committee. Conversion by Christian missionaries was encouraged in the temple premises. Now a conspiracy has been hatched to corrupt Hindus by using ghee adulterated with animal fat to the prasad laddus. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti demanded that a case of hurting religious sentiments should be registered against those who committed this grave sin and they should be arrested immediately.
