Ratnagiri : Jihadis chant “Allah-hu-Akbar” during the RSS march

  • Hindus demand action against Muslims

  • After hundreds of Hindus staged a sit-in protest at the Police station overnight, the Police detained four people

Ratnagiri, Maharashtra – On the eve of Vijayadashami, in the Konkan Nagar area, Muslims raised slogans of “Allah-hu-Akbar ” during an RSS march, which was being held under Police protection. In response, Hindus in the area protested at the Police station, demanding immediate action against those who hurt their religious sentiments. Late that night, proceedings began to register a case, and by the early hours of 12thOctober, the Police had detained four individuals.

After the demands raised by the Hindus during the protest, District Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni, Additional District Superintendent of Police Jayshri Gaikwad, and Police Sub-Divisional Officer Nilesh Mayenkar took serious note of the incident.

1. As part of their annual tradition, the RSS had obtained necessary administrative permissions and commenced their march at 7 PM on Friday, 11thOctober. The march, which began in Konkan Nagar and passed through the Maruti Temple and Malnaka, was supposed to conclude at the R B Shirke High-school.

2. When the march reached Konkan Nagar, Muslims gathered and attempted to block the procession, chanting loud slogans such as “Nara-e-Takbeer” and “Allah-hu- Akbar.”

3. The Police intervened, stopping the Muslims and moving them away from the path of the procession.

4. The RSS volunteers completed the march, and the Vijayadashami program was successfully concluded at Shirke School. From there, the volunteers, along with hundreds of Hindus, marched to the city Police station at around 9:30 PM.

5. BJP District President Rajesh Sawant, RSS leader Praveen Joshi, and other leaders stayed at the Police station late into the night. During this time, Hindus informed the Police about who was responsible for the slogans, showed them videos, and demanded immediate action.

6. At around 12:30 AM, the Police assured the protesters that they would detain the individuals involved and take appropriate action. However, the Hindus insisted that they would not leave until concrete steps were taken.

7. Under the supervision of Ratnagiri District Police Sub-Divisional Officer Mayenkar and Police Inspector Toraskar, the Police detained four individuals in the early hours of 12thOctober. Following these arrests, the protest was called off.
