India urges Bangladesh Govt to ensure the safety and security of Hindus and their places of worship in the country

India’s Ministry of External Affairs requests the Bangladesh Government

New Delhi – India’s Ministry of External Affairs has taken serious note of the recent attacks during the Navratri festival on 35 Puja mandaps, petrol bombings, and the theft of a crown from a Kali Temple in Bangladesh. India has called upon the Interim Government of Bangladesh to ensure the safety of Hindus, other minorities, and their places of worship.

The Ministry of External Affairs described the attacks on Hindu places of worship in Bangladesh as deplorable acts. It noted that temples and places of worship in Bangladesh are being systematically desecrated. India has taken serious note of the attack on the Durga Puja mandap in Tantibazar, Dhaka, and the theft at the revered Jeshoreshwari Kali temple at Satkhira.

Hindu citizens in Bangladesh have expressed concern and fear over these attacks, stating that the festival could have been celebrated with more enthusiasm if not for these incidents.
