Demand for action against ‘Citizens for Justice and Peace’ for filing false complaints and defaming the ‘Maharashtra Mandir Nyas Parishad’!

Superintendent of Police, Ahilyanagar, assures investigation!

Ahilyanagar – To address temple-related issues and ensure proper management of temples, the third ‘Maharashtra Mandir Nyas Parishad’ was organised in Shirdi from December 24 to 25, 2024. However, the organisation ‘Citizens for Justice and Peace’ (CJP), led by Teesta Setalvad and Father Cedric, has been accused of filing false complaints against this council to incite social discord.

In this regard, a written complaint was lodged by Ms. Pratiksha Korgaonkar from the Mandir Mahasangh, Mr. Abhishek Bhagat (Advocate and Core Team Member of the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh), and Mr. Ajinkya Gaikwad (Representative of Swami Samarth Center) with the Superintendent of Police, Ahilyanagar, Mr. Rakesh Ola. The Superintendent assured the complainants of a thorough investigation. On this occasion, Mr. Ganesh Palange from Shri Tuljabhavani Mandir, Sub-Jail Chowk, Ahilyanagar, was also present. A similar complaint has also been filed with the Shirdi Police Station.

The program was peacefully and successfully conducted by organizations such as the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh, Shri Jivdani Devi Sanstha (Virar), Shri Jyotirlinga Bhimashankar Devasthan, Shri Sai Palkhi Nivara, and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Previously, the events in Jalgaon (2023) and Ozar (Pune) in 2024 were also organised successfully without any incidents or disruptions to religious harmony.

Despite this, ‘Citizens for Justice and Peace’ deliberately filed false complaints, attempting to infringe upon the fundamental rights of religious and speech freedom guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. This organization has been previously accused of making false allegations against India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bribing witnesses in the Best Bakery case to provide false testimony, misleading the courts with fabricated evidence, financial irregularities, and scams in foreign funding.

The complainants have demanded an investigation to determine whether the false complaint against the Mandir Parishad is part of an anti-Hindu conspiracy, whether the organisation has received national or international funding, and if it is trying to incite youth.

‘Citizens for Justice and Peace’ has long been accused of disrupting religious harmony. It has been alleged that the organisation intentionally files complaints and makes baseless accusations only against pro-Hindu organisations and leaders. A copy of this complaint has been sent to the State Home Minister, the Director General of Police, the District Collector, senior police officers, and the Shirdi Police Station.
