Opinion:

The publication of distorted map of Kashmir by CIA, CNN and BBC on their respective websites is a deliberate attempt to attack the sovereignty of India. They have, in fact, joined the false Pakistani propaganda, and thus ceased to be independent entity by converting them part and parcel of Pakistani propaganda machinery. It is understandable to a common Indian that what motivates them to join anti-India character-assassination campaign- jealousy? To some extent the grudge of CIA may be understood because it does not like India flourishing and work as the instrument to implement US policy of counterbalancing India through Pakistan. But what about BBC and CNN professing to be working for protecting democratic and human values? Why they prefer to Pakistan-a nursery of international terrorism and ruled by a military dictator, over a democratic India dedicated to defend human values and continuously fighting terrorism? It is a well-known and well-documented fact that:

1) Pakistan incited tribesmen and sent her army along with them to attack Kashmir.

2) Pakistan’s plan was to pressurize Maharaja Hari Singh and force him to merge Kashmir in Pakistan by this move.

3) But Pak pressure-game backfired as it forced Maharaja Hari Singh to request Indian Government to allow Kashmir to be merged in India.

4) Kashmir was legally merged with India through the instrument of accession on October 26, 1947.

5) Before taking this decision, Hari Singh consulted the leaders of the main political party of the state-National Conference which spear-headed agitation against the Monarchy in pre-independence period and other prominent leaders of the state like Bakhsi Ghulam Mohm.,Mirza Aslam Beg, Ghulam Mohm. Sadik, Saiyyad Mir Kasim etc.

6) The British Government was a party and approved all these developments.

7) The UNO, which mediated in the dispute, recognizes Pakistan as the aggressor. In the light of the above facts, it is clear that these agencies have initiated Pakistani propaganda offensive against our Mother Land. We should come forward and join the hands to give them a befitting reply.

Introduction: Wing Commander Shashikant Oak

1. Retited Wing Commander from Indian Air Force.

2. Written many articles on the Naadi predictions (Reference)

3. Written article on the Pakistan’s mentality towards the world and India in particular.

Opinion : Trivar Vandan! With Hindu Jan Jagruti Samiti taking up the cause to collectively bring pressure on the Government of India,is a positive step to mobilise the divided fractions of our society, without colouring it as anti Muslim tirade. In this particular case, the CIA is an agency of the US government and so this matter should be immediately taken up with the US State Dept It is our mentality which is at fault. That “Why should I Bother?” and “Chalta Hai” attitude of the people and the Govt of India from time immorable is the cause of the decease. It is the job of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to keep vigil of our nation’s image of Map of India on all important websites who are presenting sensative information about our country. Normally the government of India should do monitoring all the important websites round the clock. It has now come to this level that we citizens of India have to wake up the Govt machinery to take strongest methods at our disposal to lodge protest and make sure that the erring websites learn the lesson from it. – Wing Commander Shashikant Oak

Govt of India must ask unconditional apologies for CIA, CNN and BBC

Introduction: Lt Col JRF D‘Souza (Retd) ROSARY, Plot No.11 Opp Don Bosco Instt Don Bosco Road Tel: 0832-740668 Fatorda Goa -403602

Opinion:

1. The issue of distorted map of J & K by organizations like CIA, CNN and BBC really needs to be taken up with Govt. of India, Ministry of Ext Affairs on priority basis. Unfortunately not many in this ministry are seriously concerned with this major/serious controversial issue as it has neither full fledged minister to raise this issue at appropriate level with CIA, CNN & BBC.

2. Unfortunately CIA,CNN and BBC- all are publicizing distorted versions of maps of J & K for quite sometime on their websites in which POK has been shown as integral part of Pakistan and J & K shown as disputed territory. This needs to be condemned by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India publicly and these three organizations asked to tender unconditional apologies too for their willful acts of favouring Pakistan’s stand/ views.

3. As the present Govt. at the centre is not likely to give this issue any importance, I strongly recommend that we raise this issue in Lok Sabha through our MPs so that it gets due attention/importance.

4. I and soldiers like me fully appreciate the efforts you have put in this regard and hope many will join in our efforts you to condemn the acts of CIA,CNN as also BBC and that we succeed in getting the map of India appropriately displayed on the websites of these agencies Assuring my fullest co-operation on such issues involving the integrity of our great nation Yours Sincerely Signature.

8. He played an instrumental role in formulating the syllabus for the subject of “Defense Reporting” in India.

9. The US Government has felicitated him as the US Army Red Cross for his valorous work as a paratrooper reporter in Vietnam War.

Opinion : The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of every nation generally keeps a watch on all important websites giving information about that country. Any anomalies or errors in print or pictorial form such as maps etc are detected by the ministry and taken up by the respective government. The websites and their concerned governments are asked to correct the distortion. Normally the government of India should have a department monitoring all the important websites round the clock. A few unimportant sites may be overlooked for which we will not hold anyone guilty as there is a jungle of websites on the net but the more prominent, major ones need to be monitored continuously by the government on a su-moto basis. It is indeed a tragic state of affairs that only when the citizens of India or those of Indian origin residing overseas rise up in protest, that these discrepancies are reformed. We should collectively bring pressure on the government of India to introduce a cell which will suo-moto(?) take action. In this particular case, the CIA is an agency of the US government and so this matter should be immediately taken up with the US State Dept. BBC is 90% funded by licence fees through the British government who renews its charter every 10 years. It has just been renewed a month ago for another 10 years. Here too, we can take up the matter with the British government. With regard to CNN we can warn them that we will not only block their website but also the broadcast of their TV programmes to India. Both agencies have a substantial viewership and advertising clientele in India. If we take such a step it will hit them hard. Their need is most and we will see the result. For that we have to take some action. It is our general apathy as Indians which encourages foreigners to indulge in this kind of mischief repeatedly. The only way to discourage them and prevent repeated offence is to have a constant public opinion which will force the government of India to become active and vigilant.

Lack of sensitivity of GOI is responsible for insult of India

drsamant

Introduction : Dr. Durgesh Samant

1. Ex -Editor of Sanatan Prabhat group of periodicals.

2. National Spokesperson of HJS

3. Co-compiler of number of books on Defence like Kashmir Problem, Pakistan’s Strategic Superiority over India. (Published by Sanatan Sanstha)

4. Co-complier of Marathi publications viz. Kashmir Samasaya, Pakistanchi Mansikta, Pakistan Davpachat Bhartapeksha Hushar, Pakpurskrut Atirekee, Sanatanchi Patrakarita.

Opinion : Seven days are over since HJS has launched this particular campaign and urged Govt. of India through e mails and letters to pay attention to this issue. But as of today there is no official response to this issue from govt. side. Through the mails sent to MEA, PMO and NATMO, the Indians in the country and abroad have done their duty. HJS went ahead and held a press conference in Mumbai on May 27, 2006. All this is done regarding one such issue which actually should be taken care off by Govt. of India (GOI) su-moto. This lack of vigilance and lack of prompt action is comparable with the same qualities shown by the Govt. at the time of Kargil war. At that time terrorists established their posts crossing Indian border for weeks together and Govt. had no idea of it. And now here world known agencies like CIA, CNN and BBC have altered the J&K map and displayed them to the world and still GOI has not taken any cognizance of it. If this is the state of affairs or apathy or lack of sensitivity prevailing in Govt. machinery regarding issue of such importance then we need not wonder why terrorists are attacking us everywhere in general and able to do mass killings in J&K in particular. Neither it’s surprising that in a single day the terrorists can dare to kill as many as 32 innocent persons in this state. It must be clear to everyone that although Kashmir problem and this map issue are not same but are very much related. If GOI is so apathetic about this issue then this silence will be taken as and should be taken as deliberate. It will mean many different things. We will like to tell our Prime Minister Shree Manmohan Singh that if he is negotiating with President Musharraff about Kashmir then doesn’t loose Kashmir in this way. We have shed lot of blood for Kashmir. Dr. D.S.SAMANT National Spokesperson Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) Dtd. May 2nd, 2006 Note – HJS will continue its struggle till Govt. of India issues some response. So we had sent a telegramme to Hon. President APJ Abdul Kalam today.

Pakistan’s alterior motives created Kashmir Problem

Introduction:
Col. Vikram Patil,
Production & Placement Officer,
KIT College, Kolhapur.

Opinion:
In 1948, states in undivided India had to opt to join the Indian Union or Pakistan. A great degree of problems was faced in sorting out these integration. There was a very strange problem in integration of three states viz. Kashmir, Junagarh & Hyderabad. In Junagarh & Hyderabad, the Kings were Muslims & the subjects were Hindus. In Kashmir, the situation was reverse, the King was Hindu & the subjects were Muslim majority.

Initially Raja Harisingh of Kashmir wanted to be an Independant state like Switzerland. Pakistan had alterior motives & wantedto annex Kashmir. They sent in their paramilitary forces called Razakars to annex Kashmir. Once Raja Harisingh realised this, he immediately sort help of the Indian side. In 1948, Indian troops were induced in Kashmir. This lead to an all over war between India & Pakistan, which resulted in cease fire being declared at the location of Line of Control depicted in the diagram.

As a result, the north-western portion of the Kashmir remained with Pakistan & south-eastern with India, approx. in the ratio 1:2.

Since then there have been wars in 1965, 1971, 1999 & all have resulted in a stale mate.
