Increasing HJS activities in different cities of Karnataka

1. Mysore

A. Demand for ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes by devout Hindus : A meeting was held at Mysore for devout Hindus where they wanted HJS to conduct 2 ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes. Later, 2 devout Hindus informed about starting 2 more ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes.

B. Many ‘jidnyasus’ attending lectures at Kunigal : Sou. Suma Manjesh gave lecture on ‘Shiva Worship’ on the occasion of ‘Pournima’ at Pawad Basavanna Mutt in Kunigal. 180 ‘Jidnyasus’ attended the lecture. ‘Dharmacharan and Dharmajagruti’ was the topic of lecture held at Rudresh Chaultry. It was attended by 100 ‘jidnyasus’. A meeting was also arranged for devout Hindus at Kunigal.

C. Lecture for students and meeting for devout Hindus : Kum. Bhavya Gauda gave lecture on ‘Dharmacharan’ at Gubbi, Tumkur which was attended by about 150 students whereas Sou. Sujata Jain held lecture on the same subject at Anganwadi training centre at Anganwadi and 40 ‘jidnyasus’ attended the same. The meeting held for devout Hindus at Tumkur was attended by 12 devout Hindus.

2. Bengaluru

A. A lecture was held on ‘Shiva Upasana’ on the occasion of Shivaratri at Kadu Malleshwar Devasthan by Shri. Mohan Gauda and about 100 ‘jidnyasus’ attended the same.

B. Demonstrations were staged under the aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan’ to protest against 12% reservation for minorities provided by Andhra Pradesh Government and against attacks on Hindu leaders in Karnataka and Kerala States.

C. Shri. Shriniwas Reddy, a devout Hindu from Chandpur had organized a meeting in which 20 devout Hindus participated and it was decided to hold a ‘Dharmasabha’.

3. Shivamogga

A. Making personal contacts and holding lectures for 6 organizations in the background of Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha : The district meeting held at Shivmogga was attended by 9 persons. 169 people were contacted in the background of Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha. Lectures were held for 6 organizations. About 20-25 persons on an average attended the lectures.

B. Devout Hindus showing interest in devoting 2-3 hours for seva : 70 devout Hindus attended the meeting held in connection with planning for Dharmajagruti Sabha. 9 devout Hindus out of them showed interest in devoting 2-3 hours daily for ‘Dharma-seva’.

C. Lecture on the occasion of Shiva-Jayanti: Lecture was held on the occasion of Shiva-Jayanti. It was attended by about 700 people. After the lecture, 4 ‘jidnyasus’ have invited HJS volunteers to their villages for giving similar lectures.

D. Staging RHA : Demonstrations were staged under auspices of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan (RHA)’ in February. More than 30 devout Hindus participated in demonstrations. News regarding demonstrations was covered by 20 reporters and TV channels. 4 newspapers published news about these demonstrations.

4. Shikaripur

A. Importance of ‘Vyashti’ and ‘Samashti’ sadhana explained in a meeting of devout Hindus : A meeting was held for devout Hindus which was attended by 4 devout Hindus. Importance of ‘Vyashti’ and ‘Samashti’ sadhana was explained in the meeting.

B. A lecture was held on the occasion of Shiva-jayanti and it was attended by 150 ‘jidnyasus’.

5. Mudbidre

A lecture was conducted on the occasion of Satyanarayan puja at one place. 100 ‘Jidnyasus’ attended the lecture. An exhibition of Sanatan’s books and ‘sattvika’ products was also put up at the venue.

6. Udupi

The Principal of a college was contacted during ‘prasar’. He promised to keep a set of books published by Sanatan Sanstha in library of his college. This college has also promised to hold exhibition of books published by all spiritual organizations.

7. Karakal

A. Program of devotional songs was organized at one place. It was inaugurated by a volunteer of HJS. Exhibition of books and lecture was held at the venue.

B. The owner of Warang cashew factory has planned a lecture for 40 women workers in his factory and owner of another factory has also requested for conducting ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes. The classes will be started within a week.

C. ‘Jidnyasus’ who were contacted during ‘prasar’ activities showed interest in HJS’ Ranaragini Division’s activities and accordingly, branch of Ranaragini Division will be opened in March or April. Three devout Hindu women have taken initiative in this connection.
