Change the name of city which is named after foreign invader ‘Vasco da gama’ : All pro-Hindu organizations demand through demonstrations staged
Ponda : There is a city called ‘Vasco’ in Goa which has been named after a pirate viz. ‘Vasco Da Gama’ although he made people of Goa his slaves. Goa got its independence more than 56 years ago; still signs of slavery are exhibited in Goa with pride which is unfortunate. Names given by foreign invaders to cities, ancient structures or given after them to roads, stations etc. need to be changed. Indranarayan Temple was attacked converting it to ‘Deval’ mosque; therefore, Archaeology Department should declare it as a Hindu temple and preserve the same; Rohingya Muslims infiltrating in this country should be immediately driven out and Hindus should be allowed to perform ‘puja’ at ‘Shriram-janma-bhoomi’ with immediate effect. The above demands were made by all pro-Hindu organizations staging demonstrations under aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan (RHA)’ on Sunday, 23rd April, near the old bus-stand in Ponda.
The demonstrations were started after blowing of conch. Dr. Manoj Solanki, the State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, first explained the issues to be taken up through demonstrations.
Other demands made during demonstrations
- The Central Archaeology Department should examine, study and carry out excavation wherever necessary at Bodhan and bring forth the truth related to temple !
- Rohingya Muslims displaced from Myanmar should not be given shelter in Bharat !
- They should not be extended any Government facilities or given benefits under Government’s schemes !
- Permission granted to them for independent colony in Jammu should be withdrawn !
- All foreign names should be changed for preservation of Indian culture !
Shri. Govind Chodankar presented the proposals whereas Shri. Shailesh Behare did compeering of the program.
