Carpet with denigrating picture of Srikrushna by Husain has been removed ! : Lawful attempts by HJS achieve success

Hindus, express gratitude at Srikrushna’s Holy Feet for this success !

Mumbai: An organization called ‘Peoples for Animals’ headed by Smt. Maneka Gandhi, MP of pro-Hindu BJP is holding an exhibition of carpets starting from today. In this exhibition, a carpet with a picture of Srikrushna with fractured hands and legs drawn by MF Husain was to be kept on sale for Rs. 10 lacs; but Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had opposed display of this carpet in the exhibition. A drive to make people aware of this issue and follow up by the people with the organizers has resulted in removing the carpet from this exhibition. The above information was given by the management of ‘the Lalit Hotels’ which is the venue of this exhibition. (The efforts made by HJS met with success only because of divine support leading to prevention of harm that could have been caused to Dharma. Hindus, express gratitude at the Holy Feet of Srikrushna for this success ! – Editor SP)

Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district-coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad saw the advertisement of this exhibition on the website and in the newspapers and followed up the matter with the organizers of the exhibition. Mr. Anand Chaudhary, the personal assistant of Smt. Maneka Gandhi initially tried to avoid taking note of the matter; but ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’, ‘Sudarshan News channel’ and website of HJS www.hindujagruti.org published the news on this issue. (Will the other mass media learn from ‘Sudarshan News’ channel which is contributing greatly in the mission of ‘Hinduttva’? – Editor SP) As a result, many devout Hindus contacted the organizers of the exhibition and condemned the exhibition as it was trying to glorify MF Husain in this manner. HJS had kept informed the spokesperson of BJP, its Maharashtra Pradesh Committee office, MPs and few Shiv Sena MPs in the matter. (Will the powerful pro-Hindu organizations learn something from the lawful efforts made by HJS? – Editor SP)

Mr. Vatkar called up Mr. Veerendra Rana and Mr. Nikhil of ‘the Lalit Hotels’ and informed them that religious sentiments of Hindus are hurt due to this matter. Mr. Rana said, “What you are saying is right. We shall take care not to hurt religious sentiments of anybody.” Today in the morning, he called up Mr. Vatkar and informed him that the said carpet was removed from the exhibition and members of HJS can visit and check. Accordingly, Mr. Veerendra Jha, the reporter of ‘Sudarshan’ News channel verified that the carpet was removed and broke the news of HJS’ success.

Detail News about Exhibition

Anti-Hindu painter Husain’s picture in carpet exhibition organised by Maneka Gandhi’s ‘Peoples for Animals’!

Says “Hang the picture of Srikrushna with severed limbs painted by Husain on your wall proudly!”

Lawful protest by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Organisers avoidance tactics

Fury of proud Hindus

Would the major Hindutvawadi organisations at least voice their simple protest or as usual along with folded hands keep mum?

Mumbai – ‘Peoples For Animals’ an organisation led by  BJP MP Smt. Maneka Gandhi, has kept a carpet with picture of Srikrushna with severed limbs painted by anti-Hindu painter M.F.Husain for sale. (Since Hindus are not united anti-Hindus dare to hold an exhibition like this calling the attention of the public. It is quite shameful for the organisation to hold an exhibition like this when their head is a MP of Hindutvawadi, BJP! – Editor).  It is being advertised on a website and news papers stating , ‘Buy the carpet costing 10 lakh of rupees and you can let it adorn the wall of your house with pride’. (Would the organisers dare to call upon the people in context to other faith? – Editor) Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has protested this anti-Hindu call. (Would the big Hindutvawadi organisations learn from the action taken by a small organisation like HJS? – Editor)

On getting the information regarding the exhibition the coordinator of Mumbai, Thane and Raigad Districts, Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, immediately sent letters of protest to ‘Peoples For Animals’, ‘Alliance Merchandising Company’, The Lalit Hotel’, ‘Vadera Art Gallery’. He has made a demand stating that the carpet having picture painted by Hussain should be removed from the exhibition and the other exhibits may be displayed in the said exhibition. Detail information regarding the damage caused to Hindu feelings earlier through the medium of the pictures painted by anti-Hindu Husain and the campaigns held by HJS in their opposition is given in the representation.

Thereafter Mr. Vatkar tried to contact the organisers of the exhibition Smt. Shilpa Chowdhari, Smt. Girija Jain, Mr. Anand Chowdhari, the Personal Assistant of Smt. Gandhi several times. Later Mr. Chowdhari tried to avoid saying, ‘The letter given by the Samiti was handed over to Smt. Gandhi and she only would decide the matter’. (If such an incidence were to happen in connection with other faiths, then they would have destroyed the office of the organisation. Who would take the reEditoronsibility of the outburst of Hindus’ fury for not paying any heed to constitutional protest by Hindus? – Editor) A letter has been sent to BJP’s office on behalf of the Samiti. So also the central Spokesperson of BJP too has shown positive attitude about removing the said picture from the exhibition. Hindus are expressing their fury about the said picture and the exhibition all over.

Dear Sir,

Subject: Withdrawal of M.F. Husain’s painting from the exhibition ‘Fly Your Own Carpet to your Walls’ at The Lalit , New Delhi 27th -29th August 2010

This refers to a news article published at http://event.peopleforanimalsindia.org/m-f-husain.html about M.F. Husain’s painting MFH 21 at the exhibition ‘Fly Your Own Carpet to your Walls’ at The Lalit , New Delhi 27th -29th August 2010, we would like to inform you that in this picture there is serious denigration of the Hindu God Bhagvan Krushna in the form of chopped off hands and feet.

We would like to bring to your notice that MF Husain has hurt the Religious and National sentiments of crores of Hindus and Indians through his blasphemous paintings of Hindu deities and Bharat Mata.

This has resulted in promoting enmity between different religious groups and disturbing National integrity and harmony. He has been accused of committing offences under section 2 of the prevention of Insults to National Honour Act. The court cases are still pending.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is a registered NGO doing social, religious and National welfare work. Devoted Hindus doing voluntary charitable work have formed this Samiti. Samiti is active throughout India and educating people about Dharma in scientific way, campaigning against malpractices done under religious practices and solving problems connected with National, Religious and social field.

We strongly object to the exhibition and sale of any of his paintings or glorification of such an “Anti – National” and “Anti – Hindu” M.F.Husain.

In view of the above, various organisations and Indian citizens are keen on any exhibition, distribution or sale of any of the paintings of M.F. Hussain. A long list of such past incidents can be seen on our website at . https://www.hindujagruti.org/activities/campaigns/national/mfhussain-campaign/

(e.g. removal of Hussains paintings from ABN Amro Bank's credit card, NGO Khushi's auction of 6 crores of rupees painting, Tao Art Gallery, India International Trade Center (New Delhi) etc.)

In spite of this, if you exhibit or auction M.F.Husain's paintings, it will amount not only to glorifying an accused person but also further hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.

Your action of including of M.F.Husain's paintings for your noble objective of prevention of cruelty towards animals will not be justified, as noble objective cannot be fulfilled at the cost of National Honour and one's religious beliefs.

In fact Husain has also not spared animals as he has depicted his cruelty and perversion towards animals by drawing pictures of sexual union between animals and Hindu Goddess and human beings.e.g.He has drawn a painting showing Bull couplating with Parvati and Lord Shiva watching, another painting shows Durgadevi in sexual union with Lion.

As a good gesture we are approaching you in a very legitimate manner and expect you to withdraw M.F.Husain's work from this sale and exhibition, failing which we will be forced to start a protest campaign.

Please acknowledge the receipt of this notice and action taken in the matter.

Yours Truly,

S.G. Vatkar,

Subject: Let us stop the denigration of Shree Krishna
To: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

Shreemati Maneka Gandhi,
Namaste.

I've just come to know that an organization called 'People For Animals' has put on sale on its Website a picture of Shree Krishna drawn by m.f. hussain in a very defamatory manner. hussain has continuously been drawing similar pictures deliberately to hurt Hindu sentiments for a few decades.

It's a great irony and shame that having been a member of the only party which is protecting Hindu sentiments and been a strong activist for protecting animals, you are promoting such pictures which are hurting the sentiments of all Hindus all over the world.

Hence we request you that you personally look into the matter and do the needful to promptly remove the defamatory picture from the Website and from the online sale as well and ask the organization as well as the painter to apologize to All Hindus for hurting their sentiments.

Hope that you will care for your people's sentiments,
Vishal Parkar.
