Mangalore(Karnataka): HJS had invited the temple trustees, Daivastahan & Bhajana mandir committee members for a meeting held at Balambhat hall on 29th August 2010, for opposing the government policy of destroying unauthorized dharmik Bldgs. It was attended by more than 150 people of Mangalore city including the temple trustees, Bhajana mandir & other temple presidents. HJS State spokes person, Mr. Mohan Gowda, Sullia retired collector Mr. Ram Bhat & famous businessman Mr. Ananth Kamath addressed the meeting.

Hindu temples exist much before the formation of Supreme Court, laws & regulations. These are not only prayer centers but also the places of worship for Hindus. These are the places of faith and building blocks of Hinduism. Instead of demolishing these temples and destroying dharma, government should guard them. We should protect these temples in the same way our ancestors have protected them by pledging their lifetime. Government changed the old road MAP in Delhi in order to protect Moghul ornaments, then why such injustice is done with Hindus by destroying these temples. During the city MAP planning, government neither allotted any place nor sanctioned any funds for places of worship & dharmik centers. This compelled the public to raise money & construct these temples. If the government declares these temples as unauthorized & destroy them, then it should be ready to face the massive opposition from general public. Before destroying these temples, government should clarify on how these temples are the obstacles in the development of the country.

Later, retired collector Mr. Ram Bhat elucidated on conversion of all unauthorized temples, Daivasthanas, Bhajana mandirs as authorized. Finally, it was decided to initiate protest & HJS signature campaigns in all the temples and protest in front of DC office on 29-09-2010
