Panvel (Maharashtra) : Some miscreants and anti-Hindus are involved in malpractices like teasing women, forcibly collect money and misuse the funds so collected, hooliganism etc. due to lack of their knowledge about the science behind celebration of the festival. This destroys the sanctity of the festival.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) created awareness among people about such wrong doings on the occasion of ‘Gopal-kaalaa’. Mrs. Mandavi Bugade of HJS explained about the indecent dancing, drinking of liquor, throwing of water balloons at people etc. and made an appeal to celebrate the ‘Janmashtami’ festival after understanding the significance of ‘Janmashtami’ and maintaining its sanctity.
First-aid for injured during the ‘Dahi-handi’ festival
As a part of its social service, HJS had organised a first-aid squad at Panvel, New Panvel and Khanda Colony. Medical –aid and first-aid was extended by Vaidya Bharat Bugade for those who got injured during ‘Dahi-handi’. Shri Pandit Patil, a reader of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ offered his vehicle for the first-aid squad of HJS. The response received from the youth and the police was encouraging.
