Grand exhibition organised by anti-Hindus at Nehru Centre Art Gallery

Management of Art Gallery closes down the exhibition as nude picture of Sree Durga Devi on display, are not removed despite objection raised by Hindus

Mumbai: Hindus objected to a painting of Sree Durga Devi by an artist whose exhibition of paintings was held at ‘Nehru Centre Art Gallery’. Despite the objection, the painting was not removed from the exhibition; therefore, the management of Nehru Centre has closed down the exhibition. (Congratulations to devout Hindus who registered their protest regarding desecration of worshipped Deity and to Nehru Centre for respecting religious sentiments of Hindus ! – Editor SP) Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has also congratulated Nehru Centre.

Mr. Jogdand makes noise …..

Exhibition of paintings by Nandkumar Jogdand was held between 1st and 6th September 2010. In a painting titled ‘Blind faith’, Sree Durga Devi has been shown in complete nude and a person is shown standing before Her with an empty plate seeking alms. (No devotee would imagine such thing even in his dreams. Hindus like Jogdand are the true enemies of Hindu Dharma for drawing such paintings ! – Editor SP) In a painting named as ‘Pune Agreement’, Mohandas Gandhi is shown killing a person with a trident. Some Hindus and followers of Gandhi have lodged a complaint for hurting their feelings with Nehru Centre and Mr. Jogdand. (Congratulations to those who have lawfully expressed their feelings ! – Editor SP)

Mr. Jogdand has also lodged a complaint against unknown persons with Worli Police Station in which he has said that it was an attack on his freedom (Would Mr. Jogdand, who wants to use his freedom against Hindus, dare to draw such paintings in respect of followers of other religions ?And if he does, will they allow to hold such exhibition? It has become a practice among unrighteous artists to hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and then complain about attack on freedom. Lack of unity among Hindus is responsible for such happenings ! – Editor SP)

Jogdand outwardly shows his readiness to remove the painting of Sree Durga Devi

Taking note of the complaints made by Hindus, Smt. Neena Rege, the Manager of Nehru Centre said, “We do not want to get involved in any controversies. It is our policy that picture that hurts someone’s feelings, should not be kept in the exhibition. It is also mentioned in our regulations.” Nehru Centre instructed Mr. Jogdand accordingly. He said while talking to the reporters, “The painting named ‘Andha-shraddha’ is related to a type of ‘puja’ performed in Karnataka. The picture is not of a Goddess but is of a woman. (Does any woman have 8 hands? Jogdand should realise that Hindus can no longer be deceived with such impish arguments ! – Editor SP) In the painting titled ‘Pune Agreement’, I have shown Gandhi granting to ‘Dalits’, a right to vote like other backward class community. I am ready to withdraw the painting ‘Andha-shraddha’ but not ‘Pune Agreement’.” Jogdand, however, did not remove either of the paintings. (Hindus should now be prepared to give an apt reply to a person like Jogdand, who is just outwardly showing his readiness but whose words do not match his actions ! – Editor SP) As a result, the exhibition was closed down from 3rd September.

Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district-coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad contacted Smt. Rege and congratulated her. He told her that HJS would always support Nehru Centre in removing exhibition which involves hurting feelings of Hindus and in enlightening people in lawful manner.
