Ideal procession of Sri Ganesha immersion by HJS

Thane (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out a rally at Dombivali to create awareness among people on how an ideal procession should be. The procession was taken out from Girijamata Temple to Retibunder creek where the idols were immersed as per the custom. The idol installed at Mr. Ravindra Patange’s house, who is a well-wisher of HJS, was kept in a palanquin decorated with flowers after performing ‘aarti’ with ‘bhav’. The devout Hindus were walking in the procession in a much disciplined manner chanting ‘Om Gan Ganapataye Namaha’. Everybody was praying to Sri Ganesha. Many were overwhelmed with emotion towards the Lord and were acclaiming Sri Ganesha with ‘Mangalmurti Morya’ and ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’.

The procession drew attention of all residents of Dombivali and they felt that the procession was an ideal procession. The participants were holding boards in their hands with a message of ‘Immerse idols in flowing water and not in artificial water tanks’, ‘Do not donate idols but immerse the idols’ etc. Many citizens expressed their views that it was a good procession and others should follow this example and everything should happen peacefully. We worship Sri Ganesha for ten days with so much of devotion, so His immersion should also take place with equal devotion. People should learn from this example.’
