Representation submitted to the Chairman of ‘Zilha Parishada’ by ‘Sri Ambabai Pujari Hatao Sangharsha Samiti’
Kolhapur : As done at Shirdi, Tuljapur and Pandharpur, the so-called rightful ‘Sripujaks’ should be removed and capable, virtuous, vice-less educated persons from ‘Bahujan Samaj’ should be appointed on salary was the demand among others, made by ‘Sri Ambabai Mandir Pujari Hatao Sangharsha Samiti (Sangharsha Samiti)’ through a representation submitted to Sou. Shaumika Mahadik, the Chairperson of ‘Zilha Parishada’ on 3rd July at 12.30 p.m. Delegation of ‘Sangharsha Samiti’ demanded to pass resolution to that effect in Zilha Parishada’s general body meeting. Shri. Arun Nalawade, group-leader of Zilha Parishada said that resolution would be passed after discussions with office bearers and members of Zilha Parishada. He explained that it was not possible to take any decision immediately without discussions. Former Mayor and other activists were present when representation was submitted.
It has been stated in the representation that
1. There were furious reactions from everywhere after Sri Mahalakshmi Devi was dressed up in attire of ‘Ghagara-choli’. Elected representatives should take responsibility of this incident and use sari with proper border etc so as to preserve religious faith of people and in public interest. ‘Sripujaks’ should be given firm instructions not to dress up the idol of Devi in any other attire.
2. The name ‘Ambabai’ should be used in official records, in public releases, appeals, on platforms, by railway etc and resolutions to the above effect should be passed.
3. Resolution should be passed in strict language condemning ‘Sripujaks’.
