Panun Kashmir organized a Press Conference at Jammu today to address the socio-political scenario in the state. The Press Conference was addressed by S/Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir, Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee, Shri A. K. Dewani, Senior Leader and Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK. The leaders expressed happiness and satisfaction that a very important All India meet of the RSS has been organised in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Since it has happened for the first time in the 92 years of history of Sangh, it assumes a great significance in the present scenario in the state.
Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir while addressing the press conference said that Panun Kashmir expresses its deep appreciation of the contributions of Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh towards the Kashmiri Pandit community in the post exodus period of its ethnic cleansing from Kashmir. It is indeed due to the efforts of Sangh Parivar that the Pandits got shelter, relief and sympathy in the worst crisis hours of 1989-90. We feel pleasure in expressing our gratitude in this regard.
Since the all important meeting of the RSS takes place in Jammu at a very important time, we take an opportunity to make an appeal to the leadership of the RSS to consider the issue of abrogation of Article 370 from the Indian Constitution. This Article of the Constitution infringes the fundamental rights of the Indian citizens in context of Jammu and Kashmir State in many ways. It is this Article that has provided a constitutional mechanism to perpetuate the concept of secession in the J&K State and which justifies a psychological drift from the national mainstream giving rise to absurd theories of sub-nationalism in Kashmir. This constitutional aberration has created a state within a state in Jammu and Kashmir which has further deprived its citizens from the developmental circuit evolved by the Central government for all the states. A decision in this regard in the meeting at Jammu has the potential to rewrite the history that awaits your approval.
Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee said that the Hindus of Kashmir (predominantly the Kashmiri Pandits) continue to live as refugees in their own country for the last 28 years. Their pain and agony are unparallel in the post freedom era of our country. It would be great if the historic meeting of the RSS gives a clarion call for their resettlement in the valley of Kashmir as per their geo-political aspirations as enunciated in the historic Margdarshan Resolution of 1991. It can happen and would as well give the right signal to the right quarters at the right time.
Shri A.K.Dewani, Senior leader said that the great Indian leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee offered supreme sacrifice in this part of the country for the cause of total integration of the state with the rest of the nation. Many of his aspirations in context of Jammu and Kashmir have been fulfilled in his post sacrifice period. Dr. Mukherjee continues to inspire the nationalist constituency of this state on a perpetual basis. Time has come for a demand for conferring “Bharat Ratna” on this great son of Mother Bharat, and that too in a historic meeting of RSS from the land that has witnessed his valour and the consequent sacrifice upon the altar of the nation.
Shri Virender Raina, National Spokesperson, PK said that in the political parlance, Kashmir politicians have tried to befool the vast political class and the general public of the Indian nation by propagating the facade of Kashmiriat all along. The coinage of the so-called Kashmiriat was a deliberate attempt to hoodwink the public opinion because of the fact that it actually delinks Kashmir with its glorious past, ancient history, civilization and the cultural tradition. Moreover, the people of Jammu, Ladakh and the community of Kashmiri Pandits have to do nothing with this facade of Kashmiriat. All of them owe their allegiance to the Indianness, Indian cultural ethos and the Indian constitution. The grand design of Muslim precedence cannot be saddled upon the nationalist people in Jammu and Kashmir under the garb of Kashmiriat. Time has come for discussion and debate on the subject as to how the people who do not subscribe to the ongoing strife in Kashmir can be freed from the clutches of Kashmir centric political class who day in and day out obey the dictation of the separatist-fundamentalist-terr orist combine in Kashmir. The government of India needs to take a tough stand to instill confidence in the nationalist forces in the state and pave way for some tough political decisions preceded by a strong change of narrative in context of Kashmir towards which this historic meet of RSS in Jammu can play a vital role.
