HJS will be called for ‘Ganeshotsav’ meetings : Sangli Municipal administration

Group-leader, Shri. Kishore Jamadar (second from right) accepting representation from activists

Sangli : Artificial ponds and other things which are against ‘Dharma-shaastra’ should not be given importance under the guise of pollution control and Municipal administration should grant permission for immersion of Ganesh idols in River Krushna. A circular should be issued by Municipal Corporation for promoting use of idols made of clay, were some of the demands, among others, made through representation submitted on 28th June to Shri. Sunil Pawar, Dy. Municipal Commissioner, by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). Same representation was also submitted to the group-leader Shri. Kishore Jamadar. Both of them promised to call HJS for meetings to be held in connection with forthcoming Ganesh festival; for explaining the science.

Few atheists’ organizations make hue and cry about pollution created due to immersion of Ganesh-idols, though pollution is taking place through sewage water and other things throughout the year. It is inappropriate and Sri Ganesh idols should be immersed as per ‘Dharma-shaastra’. Owing to the artificial ponds erected by Municipal Corporation, desecration of Ganesh idols takes place; therefore, it should made an appeal to devotees for immersion of idols in river instead of artificial ponds. Kum. Pratibha Tavare of HJS made the above demand with Dy. Municipal Commissioner.  He promised to think positively on the demand. Sou. Sharvari Repal, Kum. Pratibha Tavare, Sou. Madhura Tophkhane of HJS and Shri. Ajay Kelkar, reporter of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ and municipal councilor Shri. Prashant Patil were present on the occasion.
