HJS offers protective shield to immersion procession of Sree Tambadi Jogeshwari Ganapati

Pune (Maharashtra): Immersion of Sri Ganesh idols was carried out with usual enthusiasm in Pune. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for the third consecutive year offered protective shield to ‘Sri Ganesha palakhi’ of Sree Tambadi Jogeshwari Ganapati Mandal. This is the second most prominent Sri Ganesha. Due to the round protective shield created be devotees, everyone could have proper ‘darshan’ of Sri Ganesha idol. The immersion process started at 9.30 a.m. from Sree Tambadi Jogeshwari Temple. The procession attracted attention of all viewers as it was taken in a much disciplined manner with acclamation of Sri Ganesha, playing of traditional instruments. Forty workers of HJS took part in the procession. There were different stalls set up by HJS for First-aid, giving information on Ayurvedik medicines on swine flu, displaying ‘sattvik’ products of Sanatan Sanstha etc.

The immersion processions of important Ganesha Mandals viz. Sri Kasaba Ganapati, Tambadi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim Mitra-mandal, Tulshi Baug and Kesari Wada started at 10.30 a.m. This year too, the immersion was carried out in traditional manner. The statue of Lokmanya Tilak in ‘Mandai’ and the most renowned Ganesha Mandal’s idol of Sri Kasaba Ganapati was garlanded by Mayor Mohan Singh Rajpal and guardian Minister Ajit Pawar; then the main immersion procession started from Laxmi Road from where the four most popular Ganapati were taken for immersion and the fifth Ganapati of Kesari Wada was taken by Tilak Road for immersion. Tight security was provided in the background of threat from terrorists.
