Shri Upinder Kaul, General Secretary, Panun Kashmir conducted the proceedings of the programme while Shri Sumeer Bhat Convener, Panun Kashmir Youth presented a vote of thanks.

Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir in his inaugural address welcomed the youth activists in the Workshop. He gave a brief of the organizational priorities and stressed upon the need for the younger generations to take the responsibilities of the struggle into their own hands. He said that the two resolutions regarding Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits passed by the Parliament and the Margdarshan Conference in 1994 and in 1991 respectively form the bottom political line that the Indian nation-state has to take into consideration in regard to Kashmir political situation and the connected narrative on the subject from an Indian perspective. Though a lot of change has taken place in the subject narrative over the last three years yet more needs to be done and in this context the efforts of Panun Kashmir assume significance. The change of the government at the Centre has filled us with the required confidence but it is a long battle of ideologies that has to be taken to the logical conclusion. Kashmir Pandit Youth in this connection have large responsibilities as they are the first and primary stakeholders to the territory of Kashmir.

Shri Dina Nath Bhagat, Hon’ble MLA, Chenani in his address said that there is an urgent need to take positive decisions since the situation has ceased to be an ordinary law and order problem in Kashmir. BJP is committed to the well being of the people at large and the developmental plans of the government are meant for all. There cannot be any compromise on the issue of the unity and integrity of the nation and the security related decisions have to necessarily divorce the compulsions of political expediency. The BJP has always taken due care regarding the welfare of the Kashmiri Pandit community and they are our core ideological core concern. He lauded Panun Kashmir and its leadership for keeping the important political and human rights issues alive through a vigorous struggle all these three decades and expressed his full support to the nationalit cause of Panun Kashmir.

Shri Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK said that the stand taken by the Indian delegation headed by the eminent lawyer Shri Hrish Salve at the International court of Justice at The Hague is an eye opener for all the Pak apologists in India. The stand of Pakistan on Kulbhushan Jadhav has been blasted vehemently by putting facts and figures about the consular access, the Vienna convention, jurisdiction issue and the human rights violations perpetrated by the Islamic state of Pakistan. The Indian position in this international diplomatic battle has set many things right for the Indian key players which now need to be followed and backed up well by the important Indian key authorities.
