Kolhapur : Action should be taken against agents buying and selling cow and cattle for slaughtering; so also against butchers, by filing criminal cases. If inhuman brutal killings of cow/ cattle are not stopped and action is not taken against concerned agents, Shiv Sena and ‘Hindutvavadis’ would take to streets; staging agitations, was the warning given on behalf of Shiv Sena and ‘Hindutvavadis’ through a representation submitted to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vishwas Nangare-Patil of Kolhapur zone on 25th July. IGP Nangare-Patil said, “All police stations in the district will be informed about taking legal action against agents selling cows/ cattle and butchers slaughtering them; but ‘Hindutvavadis’ should not do anything, taking law in their hands.” (Why legal action was not taken against such agents by those who are now advising ‘Hindutvavadis’ after receiving representation that they shouldn’t take law in their hands ? Despite existing law, are the police, who do not take prompt action against illegal things, irresponsible or corrupt ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

‘Hindu Mahasabha’s city-President Shri. Manohar Sorap, Sou. Rashmi Adasule, Smt. Suvarna Powar of its women’ front; Shiv Sena’s Shri. Mahesh Sutar, Shri. Kishore Ghatge and other Shiv Sainiks, Shri. Govindrao Deshpande, a ‘Hindutvavadi’ and Shri. Sudhakar Sutar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) etc were present on the occasion.

It has been stated in the representation that

1. Weekly bazaar of animals is held every Monday at Vadgaon where butchers come in large numbers from Mumbai, Kalyan, Pune, Satara, Koregaon, Miraj, Karnataka and other parts. There are Shiv Sainiks and ‘Hindutvavadis’ in Pargaon and surrounding areas.

2. Through the local agents, huge purchases take place of cow/ cattle for slaughtering and illegal transport also takes place of animals through these agents.

3. Paying total disregard to the law imposing ban on cow-slaughter, animals are sold-bought and transported.

4. ‘Hindutvavadis’ and ‘Gou-rakshak’ activists when go to question these people, they are threatened with filing fake cases under atrocity, ransom payments or molesting of women.

5. It can therefore, create communal rift and the matter needs to be taken seriously for taking action.
