Presentation submitted to police and administrative officers at Mangaluru
Mangaluru (Karnataka) : Malpractices in celebration of public Ganeshotsav should be curbed was the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through representation submitted to Police Commissioner Suresh T R, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Reddy and Inspector General Harishekharan of Mangaluru, besides administrative officers. Shri. Prabhakar Nayak, Shri. Upendra Acharya of HJS, devout Hindus viz. Shri. Uday Shankar, Satish, Chinnu Prasad, D Raj, Sou. Uma, Sou. Vinaya Gauda and advocate (Kum) Divya Balehittil were present.
Ganesh festival is celebrated in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu States of south India. Here too, there is increase in malpractices and HJS has been undertaking various drives to put curb over the same. Such drives are receiving good response.
Lectures held by HJS at Kolthur, Chennai on Shri Ganesh Chaturthi
Chennai : A lecture was organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at ‘Shri Veer Savarkar Matriculation School’ in Kolthur. The lecture was attended by 167 students and 10 teachers. It was held on the day of ‘Sankashti Chaturthi’. Shri. Vinayak Shanbhag of HJS explained the importance of Ganesh Chaturthi, different names of Shri Ganesh and their specialities etc. The school management has decided to celebrate Shri Ganesh Chaturthi festival for 3 days. School Principal Sou. Rama said to HJS volunteers while expressing her views that Shri Ganesh Chaturtthi festival would be celebrated this year, as advised in the lecture. Sou. Sugandhi Jaikumar introduced HJS speaker to all.
