Veraval (Gujrat) : An incident of damaging the idol of Sri Hanuman in ‘Kilevale Hanuman Temple’ in the area of Sri Somnath Jyotirlinga was brought to light recently. The locals staged demonstrations when they learnt about the incident to register their protest. The shopkeepers in the temple kept their shops closed as a mark of protest. The agitation was called off only when assurance was given by the police to find the culprits as soon as possible and to take action against them. The police feel that it must be the doing of some crazy person. (How can the crazy persons always target idols of Hindu Deities? How can they not see the places of worship of followers of other religions? The police should not try patience of Hindus by giving such meaningless excuses and shirking from their responsibility. – Editor SP)
