Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by many hindutvavadis in Chennai by organizing Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals. In North Chennai most of the Ganesh Utsav Mandals are organized by Shivsena.
Shivasena Tamilnadu president Shri. G. Radhakrishnan had organized Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav in Manali new town, Aandarkuppam, Thiruvottiyur, Saatangaadu and Mallikaapuram area of North Chennai. Shri. Jaikumar and Shri. Vinayak Shanbhag of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti participated in these Ganesha Chaturthi Celebrations. Shri. Karnanji who is state level office bearer Shivsena in Tamilnadu had took special efforts in organizing these Ganesh Utsav.
In Thiruvottiyur outside the famous Thyagaraja Swaamy temple Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav was celebrated. Shri. Jaikumar of HJS spoke on the importance of Ganesh Chaturthi and spiritual science behind celebrating it.
In Mallikapuram area Shri. Vinayak Shanbhag of HJS spoke on science behind Ganesh idol and importance of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Shri. R. D.Prabhu of Bharat Hindu Munnani and many other office bearers of Shivsena were present. Shri. Radhakrishnanji felicitated the HJS volunteers at the Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav.
