I am happy to note that Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is celebrating its 8th anniversary today. I remember the news about setting up of HJS at Chiplun which happened so spontaneously. It was news about an outrageous statement made by an unrighteous so-called reformist that ‘Seeta ran away with Ravana’ and some Hindus got together and condemned him. Today Hindus have become indifferent towards their places/ seat of faith and dangers faced by the Dharma. These days, anyone and everyone is criticizing Hindu Dharma, their Holy Scriptures, Deities and Saints, defaming and ridiculing them. HJS has taken initiative to protect Hindus’ places/seats of worship and to awaken indifferent Hindus in such situation. The seed of ‘protection of Dharma’ sown at Chiplun has now grown in a big banyan tree spreading its roots all over the country. The change achieved in just 8 years is quite commendable.
The speciality of HJS is that it does not just stages lawful agitations; but it makes efforts to follow up the issues it is fighting for, till the end. Let it be the issue of exhibitions of paintings by M. F. Husain or Subodh Kerkar, issue of taking over management of temples by the State Government of Maharashtra or passing of anti-Hindu Acts against superstitions or distortion of history through text books, it has worked to find solution to these problems. It has stopped denigration of Deities taking place through plays, websites, commercial products etc. It has forced the Government to pass regulation for prevention of denigration of National Flags due to use of plastic flags by submitting representations to the concerned Government authorities. Not only this, the ‘Dharmashikshan classes’ held in every village and 700 ‘Dharmajagruti Sabhas’ organized by HJS all over the country is a huge leap. It is the outcome of grace of God, blessings of Saints and the yearning among its workers towards protection of nation and Dharma that HJS has addressed so many issues like ‘Dharmashikhan’, ‘Dharmajagruti’, ‘Dharmarakshan’, Hindu unity and protection of Nation. It is necessary that the workers of HJS should make time for their individual spiritual practice like chanting etc. for attaining growth in their activities of ‘Dharmakarya’.
I pray at the holy feet of my Guru H. H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj that let the Samiti carry on its task of creating love and respect among Hindus towards their Dharma through ‘Dharmashikshan’ and keep their devoutness live as is the need of the hour !
