Awareness against donation of Ganesh idols through Cell erected at Panchganga ghat

Kolhapur : An appeal was made on behalf of all ‘Hindutvavadi’ organizations for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water, in a meeting held on 29th August at Sharadendu Hall. Information was also given on the drive to be undertaken against donation of Shri Ganesh idols on 31st August between 4.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. at Panchganga ghat. Shiv Sena District-Chief Shri. Sambhaji Bhokare, ‘Patit Pavan Sanghatana’s District-Chief Shri. Sunil Patil, ‘Hindu Mahasabha’s District-President Shri. Nandkumar Ghorpade; advocate Prashant Patil and volunteers of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS); besides devout Hindus were present on the occasion.

Advocate Prashant Patil and Shri. Kiran Duse of HJS explained why it was wrong to donate idols worshipped by us with so much of devotion and benefits of immersion in flowing water. ‘Patit Pavan Sanghatana’s Shri. Sunil Patil said that various drives have been planned like creating awareness amongst Hindus through social websites, towards immersion of Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water; distribution of handbills giving scientific information on Shri Ganesh and erecting Cell at Panchganga ghat for explaining about immersion of idols in flowing water.

HJS has set up a Cell opposite Maharana Pratap Udyan on Bajirao Road at Pune in the background of Ganeshotsav. It was inaugurated by Shri. Kondhare, by breaking a coconut. The Cell will be open till 3rd September from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.

Representation submitted to Mayor at Murgud (Dist. Kolhapur)

Municipal administration should not prevent devotees from immersing Shri Ganesh idols as per ‘Shaastra’ during Ganesh festival !

Murgud (Dist. Kolhapur) : Accusation of river and lake water getting polluted due to immersion of Shri Ganesh idols during Ganeshotsav is totally wrong. River gets polluted due to sewage water released by factories; therefore, instead of falling prey to appeals made by so-called environmentalists and progressive factions, local administration should not prevent devotees from immersing their idols in flowing water, as per ‘shaastra’ and tradition and should not do anything that would hurt religious sentiments of Hindus, was the demand made through representation submitted to Mayor Raja Khan Jamdar on 26th August by ‘Hindutvavadis’ under leadership of Shri. Sambhaji Bhokare, Dy. District-Chief of Shiv Sena.
