Goa: HJS celebrates Dassera with ‘Weapon Worships’ at 10 places

Panaji (Goa): Hindus do not have the inclination to fight back attacks on the Hindu Dharma. In order to instill and revive warrior spirit amongst Hindus, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) celebrated Dasara by conducting collectively worship of weapons at altogether 10 places in Goa including Mapusa, Valpoi, Bicholim, Sanqelim and Panaji cities. Talks were organised at above 3 places on ‘The importance of worshipping weapons and the attacks on the temples’. The message given by H.H. Dr. Athavale on the auspicious day of Dasara was also read in the gathering.

Weapons were worshipped at Sree Dhain Devasthan, Mulgoa; at Shri. Amrut Sing’s residence in Bhicholi Taluka; Sree Vanadevi Devasthan at Mayem; Sree Shantadurga Devasthan at Nagargao, Valpoi; Sree Mahalaxmi Mandir at Kudne in Sanquelim Taluka; Sree Ravalnath Devasthan, Ghoteli; Sree Narayandev Devasthan, Kanakabandh, Mapusa; Sree Laxminarayan Mandir, Giri, Mapusa and Sree Mahadev Mandir, Pilar. The importance of worshipping weapons was explained to the people present in Sree Shriram Madir, Pomburpa; Sree Katyayani Mandir, Chodan and Sree Santeri Mandir in Taleigao. Married women visiting the temple at Velus and Valpoi were honoured by applying Kumkum tilak on their forehead and offering them good wishes.
