Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagrtui Samiti (HJS) has undertaken a campaign against anti-Hindu painter M F Husain for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus by drawing nude paintings of Hindu Deities. The exhibitions and sale of Husain’s paintings are still going on and even protection is provided to them by the police rather than taking action; but on HJS website paintings are displayed only for Hindus to know about the perverted art-work of Husain and in such situation, the Mumbai police, ‘Cyber Crime Investigation Department’, have issued a notice to HJS for withdrawal of these pictures as it might disturb law and order. In this lawful campaign against Husain, more than 1200 complaints have been lodged in writing and few cases have also been filed. The State Government has, however, taken no notice of the same in the last 5 years. Everytime the Government claims that Husain’s paintings are manifestation of his freedom of expression, paying no heed to religious sentiments of Hindus. Police prompt action on a complaint lodged by a Muslim. An email has been sent by ‘Cyber Crime Investigation Department’ to the website of HJS.The letter has been sent in the name of Police Inspector (PI) Mukund Pawar of Cyber Crime Department which says that on the complaint lodged by Abdul Rehman Mohammad Anjaria, the Cyber Crime Investigation Department has sent the above email. HJS has put up anti-Hindu artist M F Husain’s insulting paintings of Hindu Deities on its website. The noting made under such pictures are indecent and can create law and order problem not only in Maharashtra but in the whole country; therefore, such pictures should be either removed, erased or blocked from the website, orders Pawar. (Hindus have lodged complaints for their religious sentiments getting hurting due to these nude and indecent paintings of Hindu Deities; but police never took such prompt action. It is the ploy to close the website of HJS

These pictures are on the website for the past 5 years. In these 5 years, problem of law and order was never faced; but now, Cyber Crime Dept. of the police has issued notice to HJS under some excuse. A copy of the complaint against HJS has not been enclosed while sending the notice. In the said notice, it has been mentioned to remove the picture of painting of ‘Bibi Fatima’ in its subject matter whereas it is said in the notice that all the pictures should be removed which has created confusion. It leads to rising of a doubt whether it is a Government ploy to bring a ban on even the website of HJS.

An attempt to suppress the agitation of HJS against Husain !

On various websites like Christies, Sadbeej etc. paintings by anti-Hindu M F Husain are not only displayed but are even sold. The original pictures have been kept on these big websites. These perverted pictures are available even on the links like http://www.columbia.edu and http://www.artswithoutborders.com

But the Government does not feel that law and order in the country can be disturbed due to these pictures. HJS workers had lodged a complaint on 16th December 2005 with Cyber Crime Department for removal of the above pictures from the said websites as they hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. The Department did not get time in the last 5 years to take notice of the said complaint nor did the Government send a simple acknowledgement letter for receiving the complaint. When a Muslim person lodges a complaint, immediately it is realized that the law and order situation can be disturbed and HJS is asked to remove the pictures when the pictures are kept with a purpose of creating awareness among Hindus. It seems to be an overall attempt to suppress Hindus.
