More than 130 devout Hindus attend ‘Shaurya Jagaran’ workshop at Alsand

Self-defence training for women is the need of the hour : Sou. Sharvari Repal

Alsand-Vita (Dist. Sangli) : Incidents of oppression of women are on rise. Many people are taking out candle marches or registering their protests through different means against this problem; still the oppression continues without any reduction in such cases. Police have advised women to take care and protect themselves; thus shirking from their responsibility; therefore, now women’s getting trained in self-defence is the need of the hour, stated Sou. Sharvari Repal of Ranaragini Division, promoted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) while addressing ‘Shaurya Jagaran (awakening of valour)’ workshop held on 24th September at Alsand (Taluka Khanapur, Dist. Sangli) on behalf of Shrinath Ganesh and Shri Durgamata Utsav Mandal. 100 young women and 30 men attended the workshop giving good response. Sou. Sharvari Repal gave guidance on need for self-defence training. Sou. Veena Kadam did compeering of the program. Shrinath Ganesh Mandal, Navaratrotsav Mandal and Shri Shivapratishthan members were thanked for properly organizing the workshop.

Purpose of the workshop is to awaken latent valour amongst Hindus ! – Dr. (Kum.) Shilpa Barge

Dr. (Kum) Shilpa Barge of HJS first explained the purpose of holding such workshop and gave guidance on need for awakening valour amongst Hindus. She said, “We have past history and tradition of valour and bravery but influence of British laws and fake non-violence ideology has led to Hindus losing their mentality to fight against injustice. Such workshops have to be therefore, arranged for awakening latent bravery amongst Hindus.” Kum. Varsha Nakate gave guidance on ‘Righteous thinking on Hindu Rashtra’ by ‘Paratpar Guru’ Dr. Jayant Athavale.

Highlights

1. Volunteers of HJS presented demo on retaliation of attack on women in self-defence when such problem was faced.

2. Men and women raised their hands spontaneously for slogans.

3. Participating young women asked for starting self-defence training classes.

4. Despite heavy rains, attendance of ladies was large.

5. Sou. Indumati Jadhav, Sarpanch of Alsand was present for workshop and attended throughout the program along with her family members.

6. A dog accompanied seekers from ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes when they were going for advertisement of the workshop. Whenever the dog used to stop near any house, the response received from people from such house used to be positive.

All arrangements for the workshop were made by women from Dharmashikshan class and members of Shrinath Ganesh and Navaratra Utsav Mandal along with activists of Shri Shivapratishthan.
