HJS campaign against denigration of pictures of Deities and great National Heroes printed on crackers

Kalyan (Maharashtra) : A memorandum was submitted to Mr. Nitin Chavan, Tehsildar for preventing denigration of Hindu Deities and national heroes by banning sale of crackers with their pictures. Similar memorandum was also submitted to Vinod Lokhande, Additional Commissioner of Police and Tehsildar Mrs. Vanita Patil. Pictures of Deities like Sree Lakshmi, Srikrushna, Sri Vishnu etc. and great national leaders like Netaji Subhashchandra Bose are printed on the coverings of crackers burst to celebrate Diwali and other occasions. These crackers are on sale in the market under the brand names like Lakshmibar, Krushnabar, Vishnubar etc. When these crackers are burst, the pictures of Deities and national leaders get torn into pieces which are found all strewn over roads, gutters, garbage etc. leading to their denigration. It hurts religious and nationalistic sentiments of millions of Hindus including Indian citizens. The memorandum has been submitted with the purpose of stopping the sale of such crackers. Mr. Pramod Joshi, the spokesperson of Hindu Mahasabha, Kalyan, Mrs. Bhakti Gailad, Mr. Ajay Sambhus and Mr. Shrikant Mahajan of HJS at Kalyan and Mr. Rocky Hindustani, Bajarang Dal’s Thane city-chief, Mr. Pradip Tiwari, Mr. Gopalkrushna Nair of VHP and Mr. Abhijit Bhojane and Mrs. Manisha Kshirsagar of HJS were present on the occasion at Thane.
