Solapur : Crackers with pictures of Deities and great national leaders, when burst, leads to their desecration of Deities and our great leaders. Further, selling and buying Chinese crackers is sedition and legal action can be taken against such sale. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) undertook a drive against such crackers and with the initiative of Shri. Sandip Dhage, a devout Hindu; activists of ‘Sanyukta Pratishthan’ submitted representation to 60 cracker-sellers. (Congratulations to activists of ‘Sanyukta Pratishthan ! – Editor, Hindujagruti)
Representations were submitted to cracker-sellers from Park Chowk, Home Maidan and Punjal Maidan from east area. Shri. Nagesh Achalkar, the Executive President of ‘Sanyukta Pratishthan’, its activists viz. Shri. Akshay Anjikhane, Shri. Rahul Hibare, Shri. Sandip Dhage, Shri. Rohan Kshirsagar, Shri. Akash Shriram, Shri. Tejas Mahindrakar, Shri. Vinayak Dhupad etc were present on the occasion, along with several devout Hindus.

1. Many cracker-sellers responded positively to this drive. Some of them immediately withdrew from sale; crackers with pictures of Deities and some of them promised to refrain from keeping crackers with pictures of Deities and great national leaders on sale, next year.
2. Few consumers also heard the topic explained on the occasion.
