Padmavati was funded from Dubai, its a conspiracy to defame Hindu women: Swamy

Film maker, actors and even viewers, all are Hindus ! Hindus must realize this jihadi conspiracy and boycott the film ! They cannot be allowed to hurt the sentiments of people and twist the glorious past of Hindus in the name of cinema ! – Editor, Hindujagruti.org

After the Supreme Court dismissed a petition against the release of the movie Padmavati, BJP lawmaker Subramanian Swamy had a few statements to make on it. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that the movie Padmavati was funded from Dubai and is a part of an international conspiracy to defame Hindus.

“People from Dubai want that Muslims kings be portyaed as heros in the cinema, they want to show as if Hindu women wanted relationships (with them). This is a controversy, and showing (Queen) Padmini in poor light was a part of it. They tried that even with Akbar and Jodha Bai. Many such films have come in the last 10 years. Under UPA regime, such things got a boost,” Swamy told news agency ANI. “This needs to be stopped, and therefore Sanjay Bhansali’s finances should be probed by the Enforcement Directorate,” he added.

The Supreme Court earlier on Friday dismissed the petition seeking a stay on the release of the movie, saying that let the Censor Board take an independent view. The petition had claimed that the movie allegedly hurts the sentiments of the Rajput community by “distorting and twisting historical facts”.

The petition, filed through advocate Somesh Chandra Jha, urged the court to intervene as the filmmaker has “wrongly depicted” Rani Padmavati in the movie. It further said that the producers of the film had taken undue liberty and completely changed the historical facts, dubbing it as “highly objectionable”. Last week, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal had demanded a ban on the film and said the state government would be writing to the Censor board on the issue.
