New Delhi : Reacting over the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s recent remark on the Ayodhya verdict, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today said she and her party are not able to digest the post-verdict state of peace in the country.
Ms Gandhi, in her speech at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meet on November 2, had said the Ayodhya verdict did not condone the Babri Masjid demolition.
”The disputed site at Ayodhya has been unanimously accepted by the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court as birth place of Rama.
But perhaps Sonia Gandhi and her party has not able to digest the post-verdict state of peace in the country and they are provoking the Muslims,” VHP president Ashok Singhal said in a statement.
Repeatedly calling the Ram Janambhoomi as Babri Masjid in her speech points towards a deep conspiracy, he alleged.
He said in the post-verdict times when the path of solution has progressed a bit, she (Sonia) should have talked of establishing sweet relations between Hindus and the Muslims.
The VHP urged upon the so-called secular groups of the country to take note of this fact, saying it was as a contempt of court since the site has already been proved to be Ram Janambhoomi by the court.
Referring to AICC president’s attack on the Rashtriya Swayamseva Sangh’s (RSS) alleged involvement in terror activities, the VHP said Ms Gandhi was demolishing her own prestige by trying to demolish the image of patriotism and social service of RSS.
”Soniaji is harming her own credibility by trying to demolish the image of patriotism and social service of RSS workers that hold a loving space in the national psyche for decades now,” the VHP president added.
