Demand to impose ban on film in Maharashtra
Why doesn’t the Union Govt. impose ban on such films which distort history; considering increasing outrage created amongst people due to them ?
Chopda : On 30th November, Kshatriya Rana Rajput Samaj and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out a march to Tehasildar’s office, protesting against film ‘Padmavati’. More than 1000 Hindutvavadis took part in the march. A representation demanding imposition of ban on film ‘Padmavati’ was submitted to Nayab Tehasildar Pendharkar by delegation from the march. MLA Chandrakant Sonawane was present on the occasion. He said that insult of great national leaders would not be tolerated.
1. Women, youth members and representatives of various organizations participated in the march in large number; including representatives of Akhil Bharatiya Koli Samaj, Akhil Bharatiya Gurjar Mahasabha, HJS, Sanatan Sanstha and many other pro-Hindu organizations.
2. Nayab Tehasildar Pendharkar was handed over representation demanding ban on this film. The representation was signed by thousands of people from Rajput community. It has been stated in the representation that Maharani Padmavati’s history has been presented in objectionable manner and attempt has been made to malign her name. It has hurt sentiments of Rajput community and other Hindus; therefore, permanent ban should be imposed on this film in Maharashtra; as has been imposed in other States.
3. Sou. Kshipra Juvekar of ‘Ranaragini’ Division expressed her views on the occasion.
4. Slogans were raised during the march resonating the whole town such as “Women’s insult will not be tolerated in India”; “All Hindus have come on the streets in honour of Mata Padmavati’ and ‘Let all Rajputs be awakened and get united’.
5. MLA Prof. Chandrakant Sonawane from Chopda taluka; ‘Panchayat Sabhapati’ Atmaram Mhalke, Vice President M. V. Patil, Shri. Amrutraj Sachdev, the President of ‘Vyapari Mahamandal’; municipal councilor Prakash Rajput, Kishore Chaudhari, Rajaram Patil, Shiv Sena city Chief and municipal councilor Mahendra Dhanagar, former Panchayat member Ramesh Rajput, Deepak Rajput and other brethren from Rajput community along with ‘Hindutvavadis’ were present on the occasion.
Highlights
1. Large number of women and men from Alkariwada, Chopda joined the march who attend ‘Dharmashikshan’ and self-defence classes held by HJS. They didn’t go to their farm for work so that they could join the march. Though their livelihood is from working on farm, still they dedicated one day for ‘Dharmakarya’.
2. The march was taken out from Alkariwada which was 5 kms away for them but they walked that distance to join the march. They said that they would walk for Dharma one day as they walked everyday to work and they didn’t require any vehicle.
3. Many young girls and boys attending ‘Dharmashikshan’ class rendered different types of service during this march.
