Idol destroyed in Shri Durgadevi Temple in Bangladesh !

  • Hindus expect Central Government of India to help Hindus in Bangladesh
  • Hindus feel that the Minister for External Affairs who is ever ready to help Pakistani citizens, should pay attention to this too

Dhaka : On 8th December idols of Shri Durgadevi, Shri Ganesh, Shri Kartik, Shri Saraswati and Shri Laxmi in Gangjodia in the District of Faridpur in Bangladesh in Sarvajanin Durga temple were disfigured by cutting their head by some unknown persons. The Vice-president, Mr. Dulalchandra Barman told that some unknown persons had done this act at night.

After filing the complaint by Mr. Barman in Nagarkand Police Station, the police registered the complaint after going to the place. Adv. Ravindra Ghosh of ‘Bangladesh Minority Watch’ a devout Hindu organisation, contacted the acting officer on the phone as he realised that the sections applied to the crime in the registration were very mild. Therefore it was impossible for the police to investigate very effectively. When Mr..Ghosh brought this fact to the notice of the officer, the sections of the crime were changed.

Mr. Ghosh had made a demand stating that the accused responsible for the act should be arrested immediately and punished severely. The Government should pay the compensation to devotees for damage and help them in reinstalling new idols ritually.
