Bangladesh – Vandalism and desecration of Idol of Goddess Lakshmi

Will the Union Government and devout Hindu organisations atleast register oral protest with the Bangladesh Government ? Or will they ignore this too as usual ?

Dhaka (Bangladesh) : Religious fanatics cut off the head of Hindu Deity ‘Laksmidevi’s Idol at Sree Sree Laksmi Temple in Sreepur, in Gazipur District of Bangladesh on the night of 25th December 2017.

When Mr. Arun Chandra Das, President of the Temple Committee visited the temple next day, he saw the desecrated idol and all other Puja articles of the Temple scattered. Faruk Hossain, Chairman of the Rajbari Union said he heard the news and sent a village-Police to investigate the matter.

Mr. Arun Chandra Das immediately reported the incident to the Sreepur Police station. Md. Asaduzzaman – Officer in Charge of Sreepur Police station said he had the information about the incident of desecration and sent a Police Sub Inspector to investigate although nobody had lodged any F.I.R. in the Police station. He also promised to take prompt action in the case.

Adv. Rabindra Ghosh, Head of Bangladesh Minority Watch demanded that the perpetrators responsible for the crime should be arrested stringently punished.
