Buddhists attack Hindu procession

Fighting over ‘kakad-aarti’ at Kodri (Dist. Buldhana)

Kodri (Dist. Buldhana, Maharashtra): ‘Kakad-aarti’ procession was to be taken out at Kodri in Sangrampur taluka. Before taking out the procession, Hanuman –aarti was being recited in Hanuman Temple. At that time, Vasudev Wankhade came to the temple with 30 people carrying sticks and axes. They told the people attending the ‘aarati’ that ‘kakad-aarti’ rally should not be taken out through the village. They started abusing Hindus attending the ‘aarti’ using very filthy language and threatened to beat them up.

It has been learnt that they had really beaten up few persons. Those who threatened were all Buddhists. The news about the above incident has been published in the Akola edition of ‘Tarun Bharat’ a daily newspaper. Mr. Shivshankar Khond has lodged a complaint with the police for getting beaten up and religious sentiments getting hurt. The police have arrested seven persons in this context.
