Hindu Dharma Jagruti Sabha at Shivamogga, Karnataka

Shivamogga (Karnataka) : Jihadi terrorism, religious conversions, derogatory and denigrating presentation of the Hindu deities and blind imitation of the west have taken serious proportions, to the detriment of Hindu culture. To oppose the onslaught on Hinduism, to enlighten the Hindus on the matters of following the Hindu traditions and cultural practices and also for the purpose of uniting all Hindus, a Hindu Janajagruti meet was organized in the form of the Hindu Dharma Jagruti Sabha at 5.00 p.m. on 28-11-2010 on the grounds of the Shivamogga Science College.

The main speaker of the meet, Sri Sri Sri Vidhyabhinava Vidyaranya Bharati Swamiji, of the Sri Jagadguru  Koodali Shringeri Shankaraachaarya Mahasamsthanam,  Mr. Mohan Gowda of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Ms. Nagamani of the Sanatan Sanstha, graced the dais.

The program began with blowing of the conch followed by the chanting of the Veda Mantras and the felicitation of the Vedic scholars.

The program was inaugurated by lighting of the lamps at the divine hands of Sri Sri Sri Vidhyabhinava Vidyaranya Bharati Swamiji, who was the main speaker on this occasion. Later Sri Swamiji felicitated Ms. Bhavya, representative of Sanatan Prabhat periodical, who narrated the activities and importance of Sanatan Prabhat. Ms. Kaveri Rayakar of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, briefed about the motto, the activities and special features of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Sanatan Sanstha is constantly contributing to the society in form of invaluable service, in the fields of religious, social, cultural and spiritual awareness. Most of us revere the Sanstha as a place of divinity and equate the same to Temples of Worship, a place of pilgrimage; the people belonging to the Sanstha have come out as people selflessly involved in the Dharma Prachar, who make available to the seekers lots of information on Hinduism through exhibitions of spiritual books. But Alas! The entire bygone year, the Sanstha has been plagued by the evil-intended attempts to malign its name and portray it as a terrorist outfit. The Sanstha was falsely accused of engaging in Saffron Terrorism and Hindu Terrorism. Only because of the research conducted by Sanatan Sanstha today we are able to prove and establish scientifically and logically the ‘Why’s and ‘How’s related to so many practices in Hindu culture.

Through the syllabus prepared by the Government organisation called NCERT, the pseudo secular Congress  government is attempting to glorify  people like Gajni Mohamad and Aurangajeb, who invaded Hindustan and also engaged in dreadful crimes against Hindus. The Congress Government is appeasing the minorities by coining the term ‘Hindu terrorism’. Further the Government of Karnataka has an eye on the huge properties and assets and inflow of Income in the temples of Karnataka. It wants to take over the temples of Hindus but cannot even think about taking over the religious places of other religions.

Sanatan means eternal and that which lasts from one era to another era. Sanatan can never perish. We have to follow our Dharma and also the tenets and teaching of the sacred Upanishads. But that is not happening. The most revered Hindu deities are depicted in a distorted form. For Example – During the Ganapati festival Lord Ganapati is depicted as sporting a gun, a lap top and so on. This will definitely not invoke the blessing of these deities.  Purity of the form of the deity has to be maintained. This kind of distortion and degrading depiction is highly deplorable.

More importance is given to the Haj pilgrims and places of worship of other religions at the cost of Hindu temples and Hinduism.

In Hinduism, the Atharvana Veda has, thousands of years ago explained the technology of Bomb making, and also the technology of flying machines, also the medicines for many diseases through the methodologies of mantra and tantra. But the tragedy is that the foreigners are using the same and branding it as if the same is produced and manufactured by them. There is a craze amongst us for foreign goods. While we are discarding our own heritage, foreigners are turning to India to learn Yoga, art, culture and other spiritual practices, this should change. We should not only respect our Culture, but also practice the same in letter and spirit. Awareness on these lines has to increase.
