Pune : Fanatic Latif Sayyad, the Asst. Engineer working at the Television Centre at Sinhagad was seen sitting naked outside the building in an open land in the morning of 25th February. When furious Shivpremi and Durgapremi asked him about this, he was not answering seriously, on the contrary he asked them, ‘There are no women around, so ? (What does it matter ?) This whole incident is very clear in the shot taken at the sight. He was arrogant while evading to answer their queries, giving the reason of his physical disorder, that fanatic officer ran away from there. Thereafter when the respective shivpremi and Durgapremi lodged a complaint against him in the police station, he was arrested by the police. Latif should be dismissed by the Television Centre for destroying the purity of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s fort by sitting there in a naked state, was the demand made by Shri. Parag Gokhale of HJS, through a press note.
In that press note, it was mentioned that such misbehaviour, insult to ladies, vulgar behaviour like this hurt the sentiments of all Shivpremi, but disregarding that the Television Centre gave just a letter stating that such incident would not recur. To give a response like that means refusing flatly to take any action. It is mentioned in the information report that this officer is habituated to such a crime; hence as a moral responsibility, the Television Centre should issue an order of dismissing this officer as a mark of respect for the sentiments of Durgapremi. Realising the social impact the Police administration also should take stringent action on the respective people.
