Bengaluru : Implementing, ‘Hindu Religious Institutions and Charities Act’ the Karanataka Govt took over Hindu temple lands; but completely failed to protect this land, was the allegation made by HJS Spokesperson in Karnataka Shri. Mohan Gowda in the press conference held here by HJS. As per this Act, presently the State Govt has taken over more than 34 thousand temples. Millions of acres of this land worth billions of rupees are being encroached upon. Despite this the Govt has not implemented the Act since last 12 years. ‘If this situation is not changed then a constitutional movement will be held all over the State by the Samiti’, was the warning given on behalf of Shri. Mohan Gowda. A press conference was held in Bengaluru recently.
Adv. Virendra Ichalkarnjikar of Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad, Adv. Amrutesh N.P., Advocate of the High Court in Bengaluru, Shri. Guruprasad Gowda of HJS were present there.
Adv. Amrutesh N. P. Said, “The case of the encroachment on ancient temples’ land have been exposed. In the report published by the Legislature, 38 acres of land worth 165 crores of rupees has already been encroached in Bengaluru district alone. This is very serious and lawyers must support the movements that are going to be held in future in this regard.” Adv. Virendra Ichalkarnjikar informed the gathering about the movement concerning temples’ land undertaken in Maharashtra.
