Mockery of Hindu deities through Diwali products opposed by staunch Hindus

Thane: On the occasion of Diwali, presently many Diwali products are on sale like clothes with picture of Lord Hanuman, earthen lamps in the shape of deities etc. It has been observed that such products are mainly purchased by Hindus. Two Sanatan seekers, Shri. Ajit Tawade and Shri. Siddhesh Prabhu tried to stop mockery of Hindu deities.

Shri. Ajit Tawade had gone to a shop called ‘Jigar sale’ in Dombivali (East). He saw that there were T-shirts for small children with pictures of Lord Hanuman printed on them. Shri. Tawade tried to tell the shopkeeper how it was denigration of deities to sell such clothes and we are making mockery of our deities; but the shopkeeper was in no mood to listen. He told Shri. Tawade that he would talk to him in this matter, only after Diwali.

In another incident, when the shopkeeper was told about making mockery of deities, he said that he was interested only in earning money. There were many Hindus in the said shop; but none of them was bothered and all were shopping for various products.

At Dombivali (West), some hawkers were selling earthen lamps for Diwali that were in the shape of Lord Ganapati. Shri. Tawade and Shri. Prabhu talked to the hawkers and made them aware about denigration of the deity. The hawkers first refused to listen. They said that the lamps were not manufactured by them and they were only selling the lamps. When the hawkers were told about damage caused to the religion due to such sale, they kept aside all those lamps. A few ladies listening to the conversation agreed with the seekers that it was improper to make mockery of our own deities.

(Congratulations to the Sanatan Sanstha’s seeker who tried to stop mockery of Hindu deities. Such Hindus are the real strength of Hindu Dharma. Editor)
