Hindu refugees from Pakistan should be given Indian citizenship ! – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
Vani (Yavatmal) : On 28th April, demonstrations were staged under the aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan’ at Tehasil Chowk between 4.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. The following issues were taken up during demonstrations.
Hindu refugees from Pakistan should be given Indian citizenship was the strong appeal made by Shri. Lahu Khamankar. Shri. Lobheshwar Tonge said that holding public marriage ceremonies using money offered by devotees with so much faith in temples, was their insult. Sou. Kalpana Khamankar demanded that losses caused to public property during ‘Maharashtra Bandh’ observed to protest against ‘Koregaon Bheema’ matter, should be recovered from Prakash Ambedkar, the organizer of the strike. Sou. Aruna Thakare demanded withdrawal of status granted to ‘Lingayat’ community as separate religion by Karnataka Government. Sou. Manda Parkhi said that thousand years old tradition followed at Shri Mahalakshmi Mandir of Kolhapur should not be discarded by appointing women as priests in the temple since Hindu ‘Dharmacharyas’ were not consulted before taking such decision.
Shri. Kalyan Pande, one of the ‘Gourakshaks’ participating in demonstrations also expressed his views. Other ‘Gourakshaks’, viz. Shri. Naresh Nikam, Shri. Kapil Kuntalwar, Shri. Amol Dorkhande, Shri. Sachin Joshi, Shri. Kamesh Trivedi, Shri. Bharat Nimsatkar and Shri. Rohul Rode took active part in demonstrations. 200 people signed the representation during signature drive undertaken on the occasion. Other Hindus had also joined the demonstrations.
