In September 2009, Shiv Sena had erected an arch during Ganesh festival. People belonging to minority communities, however, objected to it and started pelting stones, leading to riots. Shri. Chandrakant Patil and Shri. Suresh Khade, the then MLAs took out a huge march of Hindus that was stopped by police and 150 Hindus were arrested. When I learnt about the incident, I immediately gathered 35 advocates and reached police station. It may be mentioned here that all these cases are handled by us without charging anything.
More than 600 people were arrested during Miraj riots and most of them were Hindus. The unjust cases filed against Hindus were decentralized by Hindu advocates e.g. one advocate did work related to bail; another advocate collected all relevant papers; third advocate presented the case in Court etc.
