Overexcited youth with a view to celebrate the New Year Eve had gathered in the temple and while shouting and merrymaking started ringing the bell so forcefully that it damaged the historic bell. (Hindus, blindly following the Western culture, messing around the holy place for demonic pleasure while celebrating so called New Year, are worthy of getting killed by terrorists ! – Editor SP)

The news was reported in the police station in Panchavati on 1st January in the morning. After making the inquiries the police handed over the cracked piece to the managing trustees of the temple. Devotees having great faith in the bell were furious about the incident.
